Ninebot never did anything (I think because it's a hardware problem related to their source components). Lets hope it's not a hardware design issue.

But why would you get the KS16X as you like the Nikola so much. Unless you have get the all deal from Ewheels 😉 of course. As I recall you don't use trolley that much so that is not must buy point for you. 

Range wise it should be similar more or less...

Okey, the KS16X looks much better imho. I am not fan if glossy finish, never have been. But it is an semi easy fix, matt clear spray paint the Nikola.

I don't know anymore, lol - Jason said it would go out last Thursday but I have yet to receive even a shipping announcement or tracking number so I sent him an email this morning... I had to buy another month membership for our BIKI hire-bikes again yesterday my current one just expiring.  Today I'm on the bus.  SOOOoooo looking forward to that wheel!

I would like to get the the 16X because I love wheels and they all ride differently. My intention is to buy the 16X but I won't until it's a solid wheel. The last thing I want is another Z10 that I love and hate. I'd rather have a wheel that I only love.

This is gonna be a buzzkill, but keep in mind it's in their best interest to be positive and hype things up. They're not neutral third parties.

With that said, I love the 16X, but takes a while to get used to it

Indeed, and at least Kuji admits that in his video but that doesn't negate the fact they prove firsthand in their videos how this wheel can be ridden under capable feet.

Ordered my 16x on thursday, arrived today, unfortunately had no time to go for a ride.

But the child in me couldn't go to bed without even trying it 

 

What a difference with my ks16b.

The gyro-effect is the first thing that blows you away, it's like it has a mind of its own, I tried to carve and it asks a lot of effort, my 16b carves like it was made for it.

2nd thing coming from my 16b, the noise...    it's completely silent, no high pitch whine 

I live in a street that ends in an offroad trail, compared to my 16b, this rides like a tank, no jumping left or right when driving over stones.

 

Really looking forward to my first real ride in daylight and fully geared up.

Nice! I had not taken a side-by-side shot of my V8 & 16X so here it is. I am very happy the 16x is not as big as I imagined it was going to be after riding/ trying out others 18XL and Nikola.

@prasket how hard have you found it to be, adjusting from riding a Glide3/V8 to the 16X?

In the first 15 minutes I was pretty frustrated to be honest. Mostly with how hard it is to steer, as with the V8 I can turn that sucker on a dime if I need. I let the PSI down to 30 and re-read a few others reviews. Someone mentioned about leaning like a motorcycle and once I started doing that it became pretty awesome and I love it. I put 55 miles in on Sat/Sun and about 15 over lunch and want to go out after work riding as well. :D

I love how much more power the 16x has over the v8. Even just going slow around pedestrians and such I feel more stable at the slow speeds. The biggest reason I wanted an upgrade was battery life (hills in Seattle kill my V8 battery) and I have not been disappointment at all.

Quick update. Took me a long time to pad up the 16x. Finally had a chance to take a trial learning run. Wow this is much harder than it looks. You guys make it look so easy. I need some more practice.  I didn't pad the pedals so they have some battle scars now.

So what you're saying is I have to go and buy a motorcycle, then learn to ride it first. Then the 16X is no problem. This hobby just keeps getting more expensive.

Haha, I've never driven a motorcycle but have seen them racing when flipping around through tv channels back when I had cable. 

I just tried to mimic that.

I didn't pad it. I just practice in the hallway in the house. I have advanced to the living room. So far, I have 8 miles on it... LOL

Congrats on the 16X 🍾. Is this your first wheel? You’re going to be amazed how much you progress in just a couple of weeks!

Could you post pics on what you padded? And possibly link to what you’re using?

OMG 😆! That’s next level patience right there. Or you’ve got a mansion of a hallway!

When I was learning, the biggest breakthrough came in going pillar to pillar (Kuji’s tutorial, step 3?). You need some room to learn how to turn towards the direction you’re falling

Although a couple of the middle pads have fallen off, so I will need to redo them.

Edit:  Idea was taken from multiple other posts and videos of other people doing something similar.  I just decided to get as much coverage as possible, minus the top handle and the pedals.  I didn't want to pad the bottom of the pedals, because I'm assuming it's safer to have it scrap versus having it stick to the ground if the pedal hits.
