Popular Post RoadRunner
Back from my testride with the new firmware. I wanted to take my normal riding routes but it all came different, very different. As i walked out of the house my neighbors came out with their high end mountain bikes and i asked them if they know any good bike trails nearby and they said that they’re going by car to a forest now with good trails. And i just said ok i‘m coming with you and they said, cool but they don’t know if i will make them trails on my wheel. I sad we’ll see. And i tell you what it was really really hardcore, i mean really hardcore. It was just steep hills up and down up and down, roots everywhere, tight slopes right and left, jumps and so on, i had to be focused on point the whole time. And these guys where just flying and jumping through there and they where amazed that i could keep up with them, me too. Some sections where so steep i had to stand tip toes. It was the ultimate stress test for me and the wheel. We rode about 3 hours hardcore, my t-shirt was soaking wet after the ride, never had that before. And i normally ride pretty hard off-road, but this was from another world. The wheel was performing like a beast, and surprisingly it was running much cooler than before the update, about 40-45C, before the update with normal riding it was about 50-52C. Sometimes i thought ok that’s it the wheel will blow up any minute, but it didn’t. It was really good fun but i‘m really glad that me and the wheel made it out alive. R yeah i must say i love the 16X, excellent wheel. Edited August 22, 2019 by RoadRunner 19

Maybe this firmware update activates the hot glue under the.MOSFET feature, which causes the temperature to read low while the MOSFETS are smoking? Oh, I forgot. That's proprietary Gotway technology! 1

Mike Paolini
I know a lot of you have been waiting for this. Filmed it last night post 1.05 and Bluetooth patches. @BleepBloopBlop I grabbed your warning post and put it in here to help reach folks who don't view the forum along with the King Song response. Your hand appears at 3:30-3:35 and I hope does some good as people often are not aware that Tiltback at max speed is the edge of stability and dangerous (and I think we all assumed King Song was banking some power to keep us safe when they picked 31 mph). Probably also worth saying, that I still get random peddle changes post Bluetooth fix - I assume from RF, and mostly occurs when I'm streaming music to the KS16x. So that Bluetooth fix sure isn't final to my thinking.

I've only been riding it a couple of hours a day during the past two weeks, so my experience is obviously very limited, but so far it has been nothing but a smooth ride and I'm really enjoying it. I had also ordered i5 for last mile commuting and I had originally planned to practice with that, but as the 16X had already arrived, I just couldn't resist keeping my hands.. feet off it. I started following this thread before I got my wheel and I have to say that I'm grateful for the riders more experienced than myself for sharing their thoughts on the wheel and pointing out things to be mindful of. It's good to see possible issues being recognized and addressed. Again, I definitely lack the sensitivity to pick up things that could be better, but for me, the overall feel is that the wheel has been functioning very well. I didn't have any major issues with the 1.01 firmware but I upgraded to 1.05 as soon as it became available. It might of course just be my imagination or me slowly getting more confident with the wheel, but I kind of think that the wheel might now feel slightly smoother to ride. Also, with 1.01 I had some trouble turning off the RGB lighting completely. Flicking the switch in the KS app wouldn't turn off the lights instantly. With the new firmware this too seems to work as I expect it to. I guess the only extra feature that I wish for was the possibility for the user to replace the default horn sound with something else. As I'm planning to ride mostly on smaller roads and bicycle paths, I'm afraid that I'm going to give someone a heart attack by honking the horn. 3

Better to set a low pedal tilt back speed(like 25km/h) and feel many times about the pedal tilt back. Remember this feeling will let you be aware of it when adjust pedal tilt back speed to 40km/h or higher. 2

When pedal tilt back, you body will tell you not push too hard. This is riding advice.
Micheal Shen
when the motor go over a hole or bump, the motor will be leaving the earth for small time, and the motor will accelerate itself. This is riding experience. You can observe this accelerate in low speed via using Kingsong APP, like 20km/h or 25km/h. In high speed, don't observe, it's a big risk of falling down.
Jon Stern
@Micheal Shen Any chance we can find out where the gyro is located on the control board? The Bluetooth interference isn't completely resolved by the BT module firmware fix, and I'd like to try shielding the gyro with some EMI absorbing film.
RoadRunner
I think the best and easy fix for the bluetooth module is not to play music for now.

Things like ground resistance variation can be a significant factor in an issue appearing in some units and not others.
