Old Glider
Makes a guy wanna go back and revisit his martial arts fall training from so many years ago! Especially before my high performance wheel arrives, if I ever make up my bloody mind (Nikola or 16x?) Its pretty hard to enjoy your ride AND be 100% protected I think. Nice battle wound @RoadRunner! On 8/11/2019 at 5:44 PM, ir_fuel said: I see what you are pointing at, and in a sense you are right. At this point in time (I have 160km on my wheel, most of them off road), if I had to get rid of all my wheels and keep only one to do it all, I'm not sure this one would be it. Compared to all other wheels I had it seriously lacks straight line stability at higher speeds. I don't know where it comes from and I find it strange that all of the sudden I have to adapt to something I never needed adapting to before. This is my 3rd 16" wheel so it's not as if my experience is limited to the Z10 and dunno, a Gotway Monster or whatnot. This is not the wheel for me to do normal road riding. The lack of stability under braking limits my enjoyment as I will always need to be on the lookout and super defensive, because I know I can't stop it as hard as I can stop any other wheel I had ridden until now. Off road there are zero issues as I don't hit such speeds (25mph). If you are not confident under braking you should not be going fast. This is why I am impressed by people here going 30mph with this thing. I honestly don't understand how they do it. Right now the Z10 still has a very important place in my wheel collection. The only thing the KS16X has going for it, compared to the Z10, is that it is A LOT more comfortable over bumps and cracks. I wish I could combine all the features of the KS16X with the stability of the Z10. That would for me be the perfect wheel on the road. Will this improve? Time will tell. I would love to see some videos of current owners here going 25mph and doing hard braking. @ir_fuel I'm hoping the firmware patch will help as the wobbles aren't always there. I've been avoiding hard breaking though since we know that under some circumstance it's a trigger for oscillation. Also I happen to really like the Z10 as well. 12 minutes ago, Afeez Kay said: I am going to the Kingsong factory next week Tuesday. Anyone want me to provide a feedback on the 16x for them? @Afeez Kay Tell them the Speed restriction locked to excessive milage is a stupid one. Anything more than 20 miles of requirement is really unacceptable. Also requiring the phone number to unlock reasonable speeds is equally unacceptable (e.g. the KS16x will be my last King Song wheel if this continues). Also ask them to to forward warnings, alarms, and information such as speed, battery level and estimated remaining range to the Apple Watch from their iOS App. Warnings and alarms should cause audible and tactile alerts in addition to visible ones on the Watch. Warning level for Amperage drawl (e.g. below what causes the fuse to burn) would also be nice. Similar comment on heat levels. Lastly, a more consistent and through testing methodology needs to be put in place - you can't convince me that half a dozen people found in less than a week problems that could not have been found in the factory. If we really are that special, then they need to budget to send us out test units and such, because this roll-out has been a nightmare for early purchasers. I dislike being a beta tester, risking my life, and not being compensated for it in general. Gotways may burn, but they don't randomly decide to throw. 9 minutes ago, Girth Brooks said: Just ask them to please allow for the "slow down warning" to be muted or turned down on their wheels. @Girth Brooks The app allows the voice to be turned off (in which case you end up with very quiet beeps).@Afeez Kay Warning sounds, voice included should all allow volume control. 4

If we could get an eta on firmware update and seat/sidepanels options too. Personally I think the missed to put in white leds the front wents. And I would love a commuter/traffic lighting option (like front part led side ring is white, lowerpart is yellow /orange and rear I'd red). Rehab1
This 16X question is for @Jason McNeil: My rapid charger only turns on when set to 100% at 5 amp even if my 16Xs voltage registers below 80%. When I try setting the charger to 90%/ 5 amp there is momentary burst (millisecond) of activity then the charger just switches off. Anyone else experiencing this? I said I was going to report back @chrisjunlee. I tested some tire pressures today. As you might remember, I am riding normally at 2bar (or 29 psi for you savages). I lowered the pressure to 1.6bar (23 psi). Wow this thing feels like riding on a pillow now. Didn't really notice a difference in handling. Brake wobbles still there. Then I just went crazy and lowered the pressure to 1.2 bar (17.4 PSI). Well ... guess what? No more sideways wobbling under braking I can confidently brake from 40+km/h to standstill now. I must say I am a bit worried about the low pressure though. You can really bounce the tire when pushing with your feet. Especially for off-road I don't know if this is a good idea or not. I went out and just took my pressure gauge with me, so I could only deflate. Next step would be to inflate it back a bit more to 1.4 bar (20 psi) and see if it stays stable enough. I'd rather have the highest possible pressure that keeps the wheel stable. Or just put it back at 2 bar and only ride it off-road. Rider weight (in gear) is about 72kg (158lbs). 4

For me it’s the opposite. If I’m going to hang out at a bungee jumping basket dangling from a crane, I’m much more comfortable with atleast tied to a bungee cord. I do think about crashing quite often when I ride. ”What would happen if the wheel would die right now”, or if a deer would jump out from the bushes, etc. Lots more enjoyable for to me to have all-around protection on in those moments.
