Popular Post Unventor Posted September 10, 2019 Popular Post Share Posted September 10, 2019 Part of the production delay were to improve resistance to get water entering at trolley point openings. There should be a drain hole in the buttom of the stems mounting area, but I have not opened my KS16X (yet). It sjould drain out if the wheel is standing up. That is why I tend to not lay it down on the side if I can avoid it. Water can follow the slightest of cracks and openings. Adel Posted September 11, 2019 Share Posted September 11, 2019 (edited) If you happen to have KS-16X seat, then you can also use it in the rain just as a cover to the trolley handle and you won't have to worry about water entering from those openings. It felt like I was riding an electric roller skate. A complete toy compared to the 16x. I rode my 16S when my Nikola was down for a week and can totally relate. I kept forgetting I was on a slower wheel and had some pretty aggressive tilt backs. Sub-20mph/sub-1200W wheels are definitely for dedicated bike lanes and in parks and on sidewalks, not for riding in road traffic. This doesn't automatically make them a toy (in the same way a bicycle used as a commuter device in these settings is not automatically a toy)--lots of non-toys still don't belong in road traffic. Riding in road traffic is definitely the province of PEVs that are comfortable at least in the 20's-30 mph. Popular Post Garrie Lim Posted September 11, 2019 Popular Post Share Posted September 11, 2019 (edited) So today I found out why the 16X pedals have a slight give or “bounce” to them when you press down on the grip tape area. My stock grip tape has started to wear down unexpectedly fast and has “shifted” on a spot about the size of a penny and tore itself apart, so much so I can start to see the shiny bare metal plate below it. Removing the stock grip tape and unscrewing the metal plates reveals that there are actually two pieces of padding that I guess acts as a noise dampener. Hence the reason why the grip tape plate has a bounce to it I’m using the Black Gator 60-grit grip tape(I have it on my MSX as well), a tape used for industrial and indoor applications, it has a very nice surface to it that is grippy but doesn’t feel “sandy” like skateboard grip tape The Black Gator grip on my MSX has lasted me a long time thru dry/hot and wet conditions and still looks as good as new with no peeling at the edges.id highly recommend getting this grip tape over any skateboard grip The finished product... This thing is great and soon gets upto speed, i pumped tyres back up to 30psi i was hitting 25-27mph easy ,,, without even noticing,,,i did 29 miles no restrictions, nearly got home going up hill at 25mph and got a tiltback , when i got home i looked at the battery 47% I'm sure this wheel can manage i bit further down the battery ( what do you guys think?), What a blast though,i can maintain higher speeds on this than my msx ,, what a thrilling ride 😁,,,,30 miles at 20+ mph and still 47% battery left that's not bad, i think kingsong could push the battery speed a bit more down the battery before throttling , but WOW what a ride 😁😁😁 absolute beast 👍👍 Edited September 11, 2019 by stephen 5 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Or move to Nottingham. In the three years I lived there we only had 4 days of rain. I understand you love the wheel and its acceptable to you (I may do the same one day). 25% or less before throttling should be acceptable. KS is currently my manufacture of choice because of there quality and safety standards.
