Gimlet Posted September 19, 2015 Posted September 19, 2015 Bad analogy Jason! Learjets are a lot more comfortablethan F16s, bots aren't.
Cloud Posted September 20, 2015 Author Posted September 20, 2015 Bad analogy Jason! Learjets are a lot more comfortablethan F16s, bots aren't. i think that was a good analogy. Learjet ( ninebot) is more comfortable than F16 (kingsong)
Chrispy Posted September 23, 2015 Posted September 23, 2015 I couldnt make tight turns as the footrests were dragging on the ground, as they are lower and maybe wider too? Ninebot felt better suited for very calm riding and not as sporty and extreme as kingsong. It felt like if i leaned forward too fast the wheel may not catch up with my lean in time . I then decided to test my theory and started leaning rapidly while riding. And yes, when i leaned forward too aggressively, the wheel couldnt react in time and i fell off. Now, you probably want to know what the other guy thought switching from ninebot to kingsong? The only question i was asking myself after reading your 'review', was who on earth would let you ride their ninebot in that manner? Honestly - if someone took my LHOTZ, Ninebot, Gotway, or Kingsong out and randomly decided that they were going to attempt tricks on it... let alone 'decide to test a theory and crash it at high speed'. They would be buying me a new wheel. Next time you do one of these tests, take a video... but just make the video of the face of the owner of the unicycle that you wreck for the sake of testing.
Cloud Posted September 23, 2015 Author Posted September 23, 2015 Relax, noone wrecked anything. He was happy to share and he was having as much fine with my wheel as i was with his. And this is what the wheels were made for - fun. So if you want to see his face, his face was pretty happy whizzing up a hill pushing the limits of my kingsong. besides, i was careful with his machine. Leaning forward rapidly a few times will not damage the wheel.
Pagsy Posted September 26, 2015 Posted September 26, 2015 So as the 9bot owner ... I confirm that i was happy to share and myself try the kingsong as I considered buying one at some point in the not so far past.i also have my first impressions of the kingsong. I liked the speed of this wheel. I'm so used to the responsiveness of the 9bot that I needed some time to get used to the kingsong's one. I had fun riding it. I agree, each wheel has a different feeling. I really didn't like the fact that it started to wobble and shake when I accelerated in a middle of going up a hill. That made me fall down not nicely. I still don't understand the reason of that.so for me, I like kingsong for the speed you can have for a 14' and also the feeling it gave me but I have to say .. I love the comfort of the 9bot.it is true that the pedals touch the ground on tight turns but for a comfortable, safe and smooth commute, I still think it is a very good choice.

That was a pretty bad fall you took, i hope no bruises left by now. Its interesting that we had a different impression of responsiveness. I thought kingsong was more responsive and you think that ninebot is. I agree ninebot is much more comfortable to ride. For a leasurely comfortable ride , it is a better functioning and better looking machine
Pagsy Posted September 27, 2015 Posted September 27, 2015 Hey, I'm fine... still some bruises... I agree this is very interesting how we have a different view on the responsiveness. When i look at you riding, I see you lean forward aggressively to get a superior responsive action from the wheel.... I think u get a quick reaction from the ninebot too when leaning just a bit but the reaction is probably less intense than for the kingsong when u lean more.Anyway, I saw we have a different style of riding i got to try the IPS 191 last week, I again needed some minute to adjust to the device as the responsiveness is different. I liked it to but I got more "extreme" sensations with the kingsong because it is a 14' I guess.i think it is cool to try different wheel ;)
Jag_Rip Posted September 27, 2015 Posted September 27, 2015 heh, nice to hear the other side of the story! thx for the share!
KaleOsaurusRex Posted September 27, 2015 Posted September 27, 2015 Yes, very interesting the variations in opinions about comfort; I think it must have to do with riding stance.I get fewer bruises on the Ninebot if my legs are wider and not touching the sides as much, so it can be comfortable. The ride is very stiff by default, with little tilt on acceleration. The King Song feels good to me whether my legs are touching the unit or not, and I prefer they do touch the unit a bit. My lady rides her uni gripping it for dear life. The KS also is set by default to feel a little softer on acceleration, so leans a little more. Both units have adjustable hardness response on acceleration, so that's a big factor at play as well.
Cloud Posted September 28, 2015 Author Posted September 28, 2015 ..... I really didn't like the fact that it started to wobble and shake when I accelerated in a middle of going up a hill. That made me fall down not nicely. I still don't understand the reason of that..... dude, i have just figured it out... I just experienced the shaking and wobbling at higher speed. The reasonis your feet were too much forward on the foot rest. Mine just were too and it started shaking. If you put themback a little bit, there is not shaking at high speed. I am now pretty sure its as simple as that
SlowMo Posted September 28, 2015 Posted September 28, 2015 Wobbling at high speed gives that much needed adrenaline rush.
Cloud Posted September 28, 2015 Author Posted September 28, 2015 Wobbling at high speed gives that much needed adrenaline rush. it does, but it was too much adrenaline . Poor guy took a bad fall.
SlowMo Posted September 28, 2015 Posted September 28, 2015 I think with EUC's we really need safety gears. I already fell twice with slow speed and its quite painful.

Kevin Posted September 28, 2015 Posted September 28, 2015 I think with EUC's we really need safety gears. I already fell twice with slow speed and its quite painful.Kind of interesting. At slow speeds I have always been able to just step off or run off... whereas my friend who was trying it, when she started to fall she just slowly tilted over face first and smashed her wrists and shoulders into the ground. Maybe something to do with the individual person's natural response when falling?
Cloud Posted September 28, 2015 Author Posted September 28, 2015 that is an interesting finding... Now i have got some protection, and just changed my bandaids I should try again and verify by myself. you are welcome to try again any time dude. I am pretty sure this was the reason
Guest Posted October 14, 2015 Posted October 14, 2015 I want an ewheel that is cheap, light, fast, AND strong! I know, I know -- you are saying that different people will prioritize these categories differently according to their own personal needs. But wouldn't it be great if there was a wheel which does well in all these categories? But it also needs to be rugged with a huge battery life and sexy-sexy too!i think that will be the ninebot one p's' i mean the p'+', whenever ninebot decides to come out with it. It'll be super sexy and does what it suppose to do. but by then the specs will be obsolete because theyve been around for a while, but people will still buy it just because its a ninebot.... just like... a certain phone brand.
castShadow Posted October 22, 2015 Posted October 22, 2015 I think a 14" vs 16" can never feel the same. In boxing they would be like a featherweight (126 lbs) vs welterweight (147 lbs) and would not be allowed to fight each other. I looked it up and that is 4 weight classes apart. For eu's it's not just the weight difference but the size too - but it could just be me. It's all alright though (insert thumbs-up here).

I know you just meant it as a metaphor but can we have a rule of not infecting the forum with iOS/Android wars. It's so depressing and seems to divide and sort of poison people (I'm not overreacting) on tech forums. why don't we just stick to the eucs and everyone maintain a golden silence about what handset they use ? +1000
Roue Libre Posted November 13, 2015 Posted November 13, 2015 Regarding responsiveness of Ninebot, what was the riding model setting ? Your friend might be at level 9 or something, which is very "lazy". Try level 0 !

FYI, I now ride the IPS zero 340wh and I feel that the 9bot E+ riding mode = 3 is more responsive..... I also definitely confirm that the 16'' is more comfortable than the 14''. I'm almost wondering why on earth would I switch to a 14'' ... Actually I know why, for the weight !!! and I admit the IPS Zero is super beautiful ! :)
