Useful Accessories?

Guys,

So far, i love my Ninebot One E, note that i have never tried another wheel yet.   It completely replaced my bicycle, though i have some practical issues with it;

- I can't just park it because it won't stand, so i guess i'll have to buy one of those accessories?  Anyone experienced with this? the handle+stand perhaps?

-Can't park it:  you just can't leave it behind, locked, like u would a bicycle.  Meaning you'll have to carry it around with you most probably, again making the handle+ stand a must.  Maybe a backpack or shoulderbag ??

Anyway, what are your solutions for minor practical issues like these?

On flat ground you can lean the bot forward until the outer ring touches the ground and it will stand, but not very stable. I short term park it that way, works OK. Scratches it obviously, but its on a non-visible location.

I too am missing a possibility for a lock to attach, one of the numerous small downsides of the open handle. :ph34r: so while shopping, its in my shopping cart. I carry it into the office or into bars, but so far I havent got a handle or a stand. I even park it at night on the outer ring while charging.

Hi @Bwuce Wee, I have the trolley handle and stand combined and I dont want to miss it! We are living in the city centre on a little hill. I am using the NB1 very often for short distance rides, stopping by a shop or popping into a bar for a cold beverage. Now, I can ride directly in front of the door, stop, pull the handle and push the euc through the building. No need to lift or handcarry it. At the same time it gives me the flexibility to move on and I dont have to come back to the place where I left the euc. And frankly, even if I could lock it solidly to something, I doubt that I would do it. I would be afraid of people "exploring" it in my absence, or worse, children switching it on and get hurt. Even if you can see a lot of euc's here, they are still eyecatchers of a sort.

From my perspective there is only one flaw in the stand and that is the length of the bar which I found in the box. It is to short, I believe. It gives more stability than standing on the outer ring, but not much. So I followed the lead of @Rotator and bought a stainless steel rod in the local DIY shop (8mm diameter and 170mm in length) and replaced the original one.

I did that also but that was with an 8mm aluminium bar. 170 mm is ideal because it does not prevent you from leaning the 9B1 on its side. Moreover, aftter a while, I bought a pair of  THOSE which are more robust than the original pads. In other terms, you can just buy the trolley bar and DIY a stand wich is better than the original and fits in the trolley bar attachment.

@Gil oooh ok, so the handlebar is fine, it's just that the stand with is kind of short so it's easier to tip it over? the stand being the bottom bar with the 2 black rubbers?

Thanks, i guess the handlebar is a good purchase.

Another thing, did anyone buy a backpack for his ninebot perhaps?

May be we need to be able to 'fit' a key-switch to the on/off button?  Shouldn't be difficult to get one from the hardware store and just break one of the wires to the on/off switch rather than the battery (to keep current requirement to a minimum).  Haven't ripped mine apart yet so don't know the exact space available inside to squeeze some kind of barrel?

Of course, it wouldn't stop somebody walking away with it but at the moment, around here at least, there doesn't seem to be that many so it would look pretty obvious.  That and it's a heavy lump to run off with!

A back-pack would be nice if everything fit snugly - wouldn't have to leave it anywhere then.  I'm on the lookout for small cycle lights to be able to mount for/aft for riding in 'low-light' conditions rather than armband type mounting?

All i read so far were those "branded" backpacks you find everywhere are bad and wont really work reliably. I havent found any other that looked well designed enough to spend money on.

Just thought I'd update this thread with my BackPack.

I bought this bike pump and it's a perfect accessory to throw in your backpack when going on a longer journey with your bot. The pump is very solidly built, it has a long flexible hose that gets into the bot's body to inflate without an extension or taking off the light ring, and there's even a tire pressure gauge built in so you can fill it up exactly how you like it without carrying an extra piece. Oh, and the hose stores inside the body of the pump.
