roadtripper1986 Posted November 17, 2018 Posted November 17, 2018 I just got a Segway Ninebot ES4. When riding in DC’s ridiculously bumpy streets, I tend to take it slow. However, I’ve noticed that no matter the speed, there’s a loud thud every time I go over even the smallest holes in the road. I checked on Amazon (where I got the scooter) and a couple of the answers said that you could adjust the rear suspension, which is where I believe the problem to be. Does anyone know how to adjust the rear suspension?
The Fat Unicyclist Posted November 18, 2018 Posted November 18, 2018 Hey @roadtripper1986! The rear suspension on the ES2/ES4 can be adjusted using an 8mm hex key... While it is folded down, flip the scooter over (so it rests on the handlebars), and you should see something like the following toward the back end... Tightening the hex bolt (closest to the camera) will increase the suspension (ie. allow it to take more weight).
iMak Posted December 5, 2018 Posted December 5, 2018 I also noticed my brand new ES2 is making loud thud when I hit a hole or a bump and I can tell that the suspension design is not great or was not engineered well. If there is any way to enhance the absorption and reduce the noise that would be really appreciated.
