  1. 1. What tire pressure do you prefer to ride at?

    • 39 psi or less - I like a cushy softer ride. Or I have a Z10 that rides best with sub 30 psi pressures.
      59
    • 40-45 psi - That's what the max says on the tire, and that's what I'm going with.
      46
    • 46-55 psi - The firmer the cushion, the more responsive the pushin!

    • 56-65 psi - I like a hypertensive Viagra inspired tire. Rock hard baby all the way to faceplant city for me!!!

What tool you guys using to check so frequently?

not frequently can just feel it.. bounce it off the ground or from riding it you can tell if its starting to get low.. but a tire pressure gauge is only a few bucks.. digital one is more accurate but more expensive

Still under $20 though. But it requires (buying, replacing and disposing of) batteries, which is why I use an analog one.

Still experimenting with PSI, and am yet to find the sweet spot. I like a lower PSI though because it makes it easier for me to crawl at low speeds when stuck behind mother meetings on the cycle path, or for doing S manoeuvres at a particular spot on my commute

WTF is a curb?

wtf is a sidewalk?   just kidding, I know what those are, but its at least 20 mile ride to come in contact with either out here. Im sure city riding will require me to use ramps as low pressures and curb dont mix. Being 130lb and knowing how to absorb a drop with the knees can help. Seems skateboard days as a kid IS coming in handy.

oh haha.... in my city you cant walk 50 feet without one, but we do have laws saying any public building or sidewalk must accommodate those with physical disabilities so you would never actually have to go up or down a curb it always levels with the road

205lbs geared up - 16x - 28psi with stock tire, but recently switched to h666 and it feels better 22-24.5psi. I miss the stock tire characteristics. H666 wants to stay upright (easier for seated tho, for me)

Thanks for all the psi info! I'm at 30psi on my new RS, feels good. It certainly turns well, like it's reading my mind even though the gyroscope activity of the heavier motor and tire keep the wheel upright during the corner. A strange sensation for sure. I'm 240, prolly 250 with my gear and pack, so right at the limit of the weight rating. So far, so good, it certainly doesn't feel like I'm going to get a pinch flat, if anything it feels like I could drop a pound or two (from the tire pressure, of course -- ha ha).
