So @Hunka Hunka Burning Love you are not feeling you miss you EUC rides yet?

:crying:  No, not at all!  It was a dangerous and risky hobby that I somehow got mixed up with.  The other addicts kept on fueling the fire with their ride videos and euphoric trips through mountain sides and scenic pathways.  Other riders with bolts and titanium bug plates embedded in them who are back to riding constantly make me feel like a wimp for not getting back on the round horse!   All I have now to drown my sorrows are some wheel-porn and not-so-much-wheel-porn videos, but such is life.  :sleep1: Don't search for Muriel elliptical cross trainer video.  It's sweaty, bouncy and way too mesmerizing.  :dribble:

Got my XL today:) Only ridden about 10 km, it is rather cold and patches of ice on the roads, and I can only compare it to the KS 16S, but man!! what a wheel!! I've been learning to ride on the 16S for three weeks, but I couldn't loose the wobbles on that wheel, because the thinnest part of my leg is where the side pads are, so the only contact I have with the wheel is my leg bone, not pleasant! I'm 189 cm (6"2), so the XL is so much more comfortable and I had very few wobbles. The large pedals are so much better for the underside of my foot!

Congrats dude. Enjoy. Mine should arrive on Saturday. It's cold as heck in DC as well so I am in no hurry for a long range test; bang that out this spring. Given the winter predictions for the DMV it's going to be a long one. So, it will probably be May before I overcome the 200km limitation.

I am in no hurry since riding the 18L has closely acquainted me with the dynamics of this wheel, and since winter must run its natural course.

In the end, I don't expect it to be very different from the 18L I currently ride. I am sure that I will love the 18XL for all the same reasons that I love the 18L. I basically expect it to be what it is; an 18L with 50% more range.

However,  I am certain that you, coming from a KS16S are having quite the experience adjusting.

You are going to love your XL. it won't be as quick as your 16S, but it will be faster and will feel better going faster than your previous wheel. The 18L/XL is a very stable wheel at speed. I have yet to experience any wobbles, or hear of it from any 18L riders.

And the range potential. I mean, isn't that the main reason we bought it at the end of the day? 😉👍

Hunka B. It's more than a feeling.  If you don't get back on your round horse you are a wimp. :laughbounce2:

(…) To my Knowledge mostly in Russia it happens, for example in Germany we did not have even one failure at all. I am also now at 400km with my 18L, works like a charm. Please...give us some more time to update on the Situation.

Yes, here in another european state, I have the violent shakes of the 18L too. Happened twice already, since that time I always switch it off while trolleying (pain in the part under lower back). I am anxiously waiting on the resolution of the problem, because I now ride with a lot of concern for my safety and have to push the wheel everywhere. The handles are also very loose now, from the violent shakes it recieved :(

If you don't  mind me asking, where about in Sweden are you? Myself I am situated in Mölndal/Göteborg.

I'm in Svanskog, not far from Åmål.

I was out on a 10 km ride today, mostly on off-road trails, and I loved every second of it! Still a EUC noob, but the XL is already starting to feel like an extended part of my body, like my Onewheel did. I don't know if it is because of my OW experience, but I'm getting comfortable on the XL much faster than I did on the OW. It feels very similar to alpine skiing, the way you use the feet, arms and upper body. I had a lot of joy on my OW, but the ride today is probably the most fun I have had on an electric vehicle, and when I ride on narrow trails with stones, roots and ice, it is actually a decent exercise.

Congrats. I am a little jealous of you though, but in a good way :). My XL was originally scheduled to arrive today, but FedEx updated my delivery date to Tuesday the 18th :(. I guess it works out. It's rainy and cold in DC today. Wouldn't have been able to ride anyway.

Glad that you are having such a great experience. Post some Vids and photos so we can all see your riding context and environment. :efee8319ab:👍

The "at one" feeling with your wheel is difficult to describe unless you have experience with wheels that fight your intentions.  It is my opinion that the wheels that do what you are thinking are designed correctly/well where as the ones that fight your intentions/movements are designed... wrong... I mean differently.  Some folks feel that it is OK for there to be a lot of effort to ride a wheel, it makes it more fun.  But that is only considering when you in normal riding situations.  I feel that in a bad situation, you don't want to be fighting your wheel for control and this is where the behavior of your wheel with either put you on your ass or save you.  It doesn't matter how much you know your wheel, if it takes a lot more effort to work the wheel and get it under control, it would make a bad situation worse.

Anyway congrats on getting the awesome 18XL.  Are you going to get the bigger pedals?  Or did it come with the bigger pedals?  BTW, the bigger pedals will make the wheel even better.

Good question. We know US customers get the new plats, but will the 18XLs shipped to Swedish customers come with the bigger foot platforms pre-installed or as add-ons?

I've seen reports that none of the ones outside of ewheels have included the bigger pedals.  Even the other vendors in the US don't include the bigger pedals.

Great to hear that you are happy with the wheel!  My XL is still on a container ship somewhere between China and the Port of Los Angeles.  But the weather here in the Washington, D.C. area sucks at the moment.  And we've got a lot more winter weather ahead of us.  So I'm okay with waiting a bit.

Tuesday is going to be clear and sunny.  Also breezy, though, so bundle up.  Can't wait to hear your first impressions.

Unfortunately, I won't get to ride it on the day it arrives: meetings all day, be dark when I get home. However, I will have some first impressions to share for sure on Wednesday if this sucky DC weather doesn't persist. So looking forward to riding this wheel man. Pumped up. :D👍

Well you know man. I've ridden with you before. Because of your weight (lucky devil) I truly think that the mileage you extract from your L will be close to what I get on the XL. You could probably get 80 miles out of an XL. I only expect to be able to get about 50 miles of range in real world riding of an XL.

I might do that. I feel your pain, it is hard to wait for something you are looking forward to, but the joy you will have with the wheel is worth every bit of pain:)

I never felt like the KS 16 was a part of my body even though it is a good wheel, but it is to small for me and will mainly be used by my girlfriend. I have the bigger pedals, but I had to pay extra for them. They are great compared to the KS 16. I've only been riding EUC's for four weeks, and with the 16 it was painful to ride 5 km, but with the big pedals on the XL 10 km in rough terrain is no problem.

The weather sucks here in Sweden as well, and it will suck for another 3-4 months;) The XL is worth the wait:)

Me too. I just purchased a 360 One X, but I haven't yet set it up or tried to use it because I'm technically-challenged. But mostly because I really got the camera for my son to video document his experiences on his upcoming trip to France where he will be residing for the next six months. I should probably stop being lazy about it. Open the box and set the camera up so I can shoot at least a first impressions video.

That would be nice to see! Tomorrow will probably be my last riding day for a while, because of incoming snow and the salt on the roads, so I'll probably just enjoy the ride and not film anything.

Ohh that is not that far away. Only like 200km so it us possible to reach by car and meet up at some point. I wanted to take the car and wheel in the trunk to go out explore places. But I kinda got my KS18L a little late and lag of ride experience this summer so it is next year's goal.

At least I went to Copenhagen at the weekend before Halloween. That is about 330km away.
