DanCar
I've had fun with my inMotion V8 and thinking about buying one for my Son. He is in New York and has lots of stairs to traverse on his commute. Wondering which lightweight unicycle would be a good gift? Easy to carry and stuff in backpack. My V8 weights 30 pounds so I don't consider that easy to carry.
meepmeepmayer
Carryability and actual usefulness are a bit opposite ends of then EUC spectrum. So this is a question that I'd ask your son, how "serious" the commute is, what are the details, how far, road conditions, etc? The V8 isn't bad to carry at all compared to others. There's the V5F as a smaller and lighter analogue. The IPS i5 is a joy to carry, but limited to around 20kph. If it needs to fit into a backpack (barely), it's this or the Gotway mten3 (small tire though). Or just give him your V8 for a while and see if it fits the bill, wouldn't that make sense?
DanCar
Thanks, I'll plan on gifting him an IPS i5. If he likes it, then can upgrade.
