Marcglider
I received my MSX 84v yesterday... after connecting the battery, sliming the tire and charging, I was able to put 8 miles on it last night. My very very early impression is it is smooth, plenty of power, I did not take it above 15mph. I put 42psi in the tire and it felt soft on bumps, the recommended pressure is 35-45 psi so I will probably run it at 45. Jason provided the upgraded side pads as well as a seat, I replaced the pads because the factory installed ones are way too soft, and will definitely rip as many people have reported, so since the new ones are thicker, I will just do it now and get used to them. I see where the dihedryl of the pedals can bother some people, for me I do not seem to mind it from a feel or comfort stand point, I did feel a little foot pain but I am very sure that is because it is different and new, and don't anticipate any problems or desire to modify them.. I know @mrelwood lowered the angle and likes it, for me I think it is fine... I think he stated he as like a size 13 shoe, I am 8.5 so that may be the difference. I don't have much else to say as I don't have much time on it, but I will post more on this wheel as well as my Z10 here, I have 90 miles on that wheel so it also is still too new to give a lot of useful info... I encourage all with these wheels to post any useful info here so we all can benefit from it..
Marcglider
So I took out my MSX a couple of days ago with the thicker pads Jason provided... I Hated it... SO I took them off, went to a local shoe repair store (someone posted a little while back about this) and picked out a thickness material that is around 1/4 inch thick... made a template installed it on the wheel and WOW... I love the mod. I ripped off the pads on my Tesla and did the same thing and I am SO HAPPY... I never really liked the Tesla like my 16S because of the super wide upper, also my MCM5 is narrow and actually curves inward which I like. I always said to myself I will get used to it over time but that all went away for a few bucks and a little time making them. Regarding the handling of the MSX... I always preferred the 16" wheels because they handled more nimbly than the 18" with the gyroscopic effect making them want to go straight. I can say that the technique @houseofjob detailed in the Z thread is what I have been practicing on my Z10, I am getting much more comfortable with it every ride. When I got on my MSX today the combination of the slimmer upper pads and my better technique has given me a greater Love for the MSX as I am starting to turn it like I am riding a 16" wheel.... Did I mention I love these things... No issues on either of these so far, I did update the Z firmware this morning, put 15 miles on it and it is all good, no issues to report.
