OleTC Posted September 16, 2015 Posted September 16, 2015 I just whish someone would convince KongSong about the great idea of making different size footplates, to choose when ordering the Wheel. My size 46 footprints don't fit those small standard plates that come with the bulk of Wheels.
Cloud Posted September 16, 2015 Author Posted September 16, 2015 One limitation to the dimensions of the footplates would come from the fact that when you turn the wheel is slanted at an angle and at a steep enough angle, the footrests will tocuh the ground, making them wider would limit the riding angle more. I do believe they could be made slightly longer though...
KaleOsaurusRex Posted September 17, 2015 Posted September 17, 2015 Wow, you must have very large feet. I find the King Song foot plates to be pretty huge compared to most I've tried. Maybe it's an optical illusion? There's a post with the exact size here:

They seem to be listening to buyers and the suggestion I came up with, would give them an edge over other manufacturers amongst the Bigfoot tribe that I belong to. And we are many! Are You reading here, Tina?
KaleOsaurusRex Posted September 17, 2015 Posted September 17, 2015 They do listen, and that is why I love them. I will make sure she hears this one, but no guarantees on results

Are You reading here, Tina?My Bigfoot tribe is also interested in footplates that we don't need to balance on with our insteps. And customisable warnings - such as being able to load a sample of Scotty saying "She cannae take it, Captain!" as a final speed warning.
KaleOsaurusRex Posted September 17, 2015 Posted September 17, 2015 Just emailed Tina, should have some sort of response tomorrow. Also recommended changing the direction of the pedal grip texture on top to make it better for wet conditions.
Tom Posted October 12, 2015 Posted October 12, 2015 What do you guys think? New photos of the Kingsong 16":
OleTC Posted October 12, 2015 Posted October 12, 2015 Thanks, Tom.I see it has a frontlight. Bet it has got red backlight as well. And likely with brake-light.
edwin_rm Posted October 12, 2015 Posted October 12, 2015 Looks like 'maybe' the tire can be inflated from the small opening on the bottom. I hope so! I just don't understand the point of making the case cover the entire wheel. Can someone clarify?

I just don't understand the point of making the case cover the entire wheel. Can someone clarify?it would be the insane if you couldnt inflate the tire without taking off the case. So the acces has gotta be there What i am worried about is if you get a flat, you probably cant put a patch without removing the cover, as there doesnt seem to be enough room to pull out the tube and glue in place. While i liked the earlier rendering of the wheel better, i do feel a bit relieved about the design after seeing these pics. Not great but not so bad either. The pedals are covering the worst part - the termination of the black line,on the cicumference into two moustache looking dots.
MrBump Posted October 13, 2015 Posted October 13, 2015 Really wanted to like it too. Guess I'll see how the legal situation pans out in the UK and perhaps get a KS 800W 14'' at some point.
Colestien Posted October 13, 2015 Posted October 13, 2015 I'm still kind of liking it. After playing with my clone, I can see the use of a trolley handle. and I do like the fact it seems to "go away". Being a KS, I'll assume it will be safe? This will be like generation 3?? I would like a HUG battery with 800w+ motor. Anyone have the proposed specs?.
zentype Posted October 16, 2015 Posted October 16, 2015 Despite what people may think of their design aesthetic (Which I admit I'm not a fan of here . Though I did warm up to the 14" and always liked the polarizing 18" styling) you have to admit King Song really does pack in the features. The built-in handle is just another way they are continuing with this philosophy. Great job with that King Song!...Now if they could just find a better industrial designer... Or you know... Send them on some design quests to level up

Send them on some design quests to level up well said. They want to get better and ahead of competition. They still havent lost that "hunger" and they are trying. They just need a good graphic designer and maybe a marketing specialist.

August Y Posted May 13, 2016 Posted May 13, 2016 On 9/7/2015 at 1:27 PM, Cloud said: thank you, Jason McNeil. Yes i agree, the wheel has to be waterproof. I had one experience riding it in the rain, on my 4th day i took a trip from manhattan to brooklyn, about an hour long and it started raining. The rain wasnt too heavy so i dont know if this means anything but i had no problems with it. I realized that since the usb port is unprotected, this will be a perfect route for the water to get it, so i rode into a store at the gas station and asked them for a piece of scotch tape. I had nothing but a plastic bag with me, so i tore a piece of the plastic bag and taped it on top of the unit to cover the usb port. I didnt have any issues riding in the light rain, but i suspect if the rain was heavier, it could have been a problem... what woukd be the other weak points for the water to get in? Speaker openings? If these are the only locations, this would be easy to resolve. Speakers dont have to have actual openings. There could be a waterproof membrane placed there that woukd have virtually no effect on sound the on off button needs to be made waterprrof also. I assume its not right now. Again, an easy fix... Hey Cloud! Im in Brooklyn. you have the KS16? Was looking to buy an EU send me a Pm if you like.
