That was my first ks14c crash; newer wheels are incomparably better because their pedal hardness and thicker axle allow you to jump or bounce over such obstacles. No way can you bounce a KS14c over that, at least not without busting something important.

I just use my knees and ankles to lead the wheel over the ramp. Still need to work on the technique when going backwards, as we can see.

But then, during a speedy dismount one anyways has to avoid entanglement with the wheel to not stumble over it. But yeah, sturdy shoes/boots are quite on top of my list of useful safety gear, all of which I don't wear
