MetricUSA
Odd question, I do have a smart phone but do not use or have cellar service, so can not use the phones 'GPS' service, so has any one use a bluetooth GPS unit with phone? What unit did you use with what app?
Jag_Rip
Even without cellular service your GPS is able to position you, its just the Map that cant be downloaded on the go. But If you sit at home and preload the map first, the GPS wil tell you where you are. I do that usually when abroad to eliminate roaming costs when strolling through a foreign city.Needless to say turn-by-turn navigation then will only work as long as you dont make a wrong turn since it cant recalculate the route as well without mobile internet. MetricUSA
Yes I have done it before but this will not provide speed details...
Jag_Rip
You dont need internetconnection for GPS speed measurement either, its the app that cant do it.I heard of Runtastic that did good in tracking where and how fast you went, there's a Google App that does it as well, there are threads on the forum for apps people use with their WheelsI luckily can use the app that came with my 9bot to read out the speed.
