I was going to request that if you ever get to ride the V10F again that you take it up that right-side path that the MCM5 made it up, but after the Overheat Hill segment I stopped caring entirely. I'm still interested to see how the MCM5's low pedal height handles the downhill SwitchBacke trail section on the other side of Overheat Hill/BrokeBacke Mountain, but I just might have a new favorite dream wheel, and it ain't my MCM3

I'm really mean it! I could see where people who have no idea what it is like to ride in New York City could get this impression. But understand this: Tishawn, Chris and crew know their streets better than anyone and how to stay safe. What might look reckless or dangerous to you is actually a well-tuned survival skill of bicyclists and other riders in NYC and other dense, complicated urban areas. Many of us ride city streets with full-speed ruthless rush-hour traffic. I've lived and bicycled in NYC, and San Francisco is no boardwalk stroll, I can assure you. Staying visible, making active, aggressive decisions about path and placement, and demanding your portion of the road is essential to survival. (Notice how the bicyclists in Citi Wheel's video ride, running lights, keeping momentum... It's basically how things work in NYC.) Now, we can of course have adult conversations about gear like helmets and gloves. Tishawn and I chatted about gear when he visited SF a few weeks ago, and he did wear a helmet for most of our riding together out here. But there's no need to safety-shame others to enforce your views. 9

As well as all the "awful" representations of the EUC and all the people we scare annoy or hurt on the daily as Electric Unicycle riders in this world: Bike paths that are not meant to go 25 mph (beach, city or boardwalk) every set of stairs done by nice Chinese folks over the last few years (amazing) the walking trails in parks that we ride (people there for peaceful nature walks) weaving through crowded boardwalks (people without shoes or much clothing) the poor dogs and other animals that get frightened (sucks cuz I love my dog and he is a service dog) all the skateparks designed specifically for skateboards not EUC's (Im guilty but I skate too) all the daring kids in China riding on the top of the wheel....on a bike path (I still cant do it) everybody riding through public places on one foot or in reverse (let's see....how about Madrid?) every bench, ledge and curb we ever dropped off of (someone has to sit down there) the playgrounds, basketball, tennis and golf courses (all guilty of one of them) all the kids under ten years old without helmets and pads (I think it is actually illegal in some states) every piece of cement or divider we all balance on in the streets (cars rolling by) all the parking lots we ride through or hang out in when its raining (cars driving by and pedestrians walking through) every store or restaurant entrance we zip by and scare the shit out of customers (you know it's true) all the elderly or handicapped that don't understand it and are therefore scared of it (spoke to a few of them) the hundreds of careless riders who have crashed right in front of a crowd or worse yet, in a crowd (Lame) all the riders in a big city who have no choice but to ride in the street with traffic (illegal with no choice) the cars we all make drive all the way into the other lane to avoid riding near us (they're being dramatic but...still) dudes in full body armor that make people feel like it is unsafe or unachievable and make the youth think its cheezy Just a reminder to the haters. Advancement of the euc community especially to the YOUTH is almost solely dependent on it being COOL, ratchet, sick, ill, gnarly or dope! Nice comprehensive list Frankly, I don't wear clothes or gear based on what I want kids to think. I could care less. This is a niche activity that will always be so due to the steep learning curve. Finally, I'll add my one data point. Where I ride, with full gear on, I've had lots of encounters with teenagers who think it's the coolest thing ever. Not that I care My brother, ya jus gots to DO YOUR THING (ya look damn good in pads anyway ;-) and some kids totally do think its even cooler in gear for sure! Although I often wonder if the full face helmet freaks some people out. Lol I only mentioned the kids cuz ("The children are our future" lol) people often refer to the future of the EUC "furthering the growth of the EUC" and or "Not giving the EUC a bad name" (is it $?). Individual riding styles vary, as do the wheels and a super important factor is your physical health. My friend is 54 rides a Onewheel and he wears full gear.......it has saved his life a few times and I thank god each time he had them on (full back brace and the whole 9). Lets spread love and respect for all of us riders and support the idea of GROWTH in riding styles (extreme or not) and the community......FOR EVERYONE! IMHO It's all about the RIDING and not just the BUYING! Wear a helmet for sure!! 4
Popular Post Hunka Hunka Burning Love
I think @dismason has a point, but if you've seen the rest of the NYC crew's riding videos, it's just the way it is over there. Maybe dismason hasn't seen the many other NYC videos as he's newer to the forums. I was like watching it, thinking, don't die Tishawn, don't die! We love your videos, man! Also secondarily don't let that Ninebot Z get run over by a car and damage it! There are other places it has to go to! We're each familiar and used to our own local environment, and unless we've walked or rode a few miles in other people's shoes, it's very easy to jump to conclusions. Traffic and riders there are likely used to people zipping in and out, and cars seem to all drive slowly for the most part unlike other countries where I'm driving at 100 kph and people are giving me dirty looks as they zoom past at 140-160 kph even though the speed limit is 100 kph. Popular Post Carl Svanfelt
Thank you all for your nice comments ! I have also been very fascinated by high speed and dangers and I have been active in sports like: Rallycross, Super G, Cross-Country Eventing and Aerobics. These sports have been practiced in places intended for this purpose. About traffic rules, I have never broken them and have never get fines for overspeed. In traffic, we must also take into consideration other people's feelings. But it's true, in some cultures people think that rules is something to be broken. I have seen the others of NYC crew's riding videos and I've also given thumbs up to at least one of them on YouTube. It was also their video that made me to buy KingSong 16C instead of Gotway Tesla. Have a good weekend all community and ride safely! Kind regards from Finland Carl PS. Yesterday I calibrated my KingSong for today's offroad exercises in the woods.
