I've been thinking of getting a Mavic Pro. Apparently it has a follow me -function. Have you tried that. Can it keep up with EUC speeds of 20-30 km/h and does it work only in wide open spaces or can you use it on semi wide trails as they have obstacle avoidance sensors. I would actually like the drone to fly low ahead of me and shoot backwards toward me and then maybe have it make an occasional 360 around during riding, if space allows.

I had it out last year when I was still on the V8 and had it follow me around a huge field experimentally, pretty sure I was going 20-25 range, but I had it following from quite a distance. A second experiment from closer range it seemed to get a bit confused, but this was in a demo situation so I didn't have time to really assess what was happening. I parked it after that. I have not tried it under any other scenarios yet. Firmware has had several updates so it might be better. Planning to do some more experiments this evening and on our weekend trip, so I'll update this if I learn anything.

Did some searching and it seems that with Mavic Pro 2 and its active tracking v. 2 things have improved a lot, but it is still not perfect. Also the pro 2 has obstacle avoidance sensors to all directions, so crashing is less likely in scenarios like tracking in forrest trails with branches on the way.

It doesn't need the same bitrate! People are confused about this topic.

The HERO7 uses HEVC compression which is about twice as efficient at H.264.

So a 50Mbps HEVC video is as good as a 100Mbps one using the older standard.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/High_Efficiency_Video_Coding?wprov=sfti1

Very interesting and enlightening. I've fallen behind in my compression knowledge :(  This is great information - thanks a lot for the link

And I stand corrected :D

Have you tried "spinning" with the long selfie stick? It's a really weird feeling as once you get going you have to really fight the air resistance.

Not spinning, but I can totally relate. Sticking this 9-foot pole out to the side (like you were doing) but traveling straight at 20-mph just about knocks you off the wheel. And that's with a super thin selfie-stick.

Somehow I missed this video. Love that tron like suit with the moving blue LED. That would be great for Halloween.

Haven't seen any new videos from you in a long time. Good to see you're still around :D

OK this is a good one. We filmed an episode of T-Pain's new show "T-Pain's School Of Business" on FUSE TV a few months ago, and we just got to see how it turned out. He originally wanted to try / learn Glide 3 (I even drove to him to give him a personal lesson) but he ran out of time. Maybe next time.. Regardless, we are excited how it turned out. You never know how they will edit when it comes to reality style TV!

No fair, I wanna hang out with T Pain!

Any way to watch this somewhere else? Geoblocked ("not authorized in my location").

edit: Episode 1 is on Youtube, so the second one might appear there, too. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCwff7OoSHp3el6GqnSwcSdA/videos?flow=grid&view=0 So far, you can see a V8 for 0.1 seconds in the intro:efee47c9c8:

Congratulations! Would have been nice to see T-Pain try the Glide.  I know what was on Rose’s mind.

Inb4 someone steals the format of the video - Random's staring at a wheel with stare counter.

Is that a GoPro fusion?  The stitching is really bad. I’ve not seen it bad on the Insta360, that is why I’m guessing it is the GoPro.

Fusion's stitching is excellent. The mobile app stitching is not as good as the desktop, but Fusion is generally regarded as the best prosumer 360 camera on the market. The stitching technology came from the highly regarded Kolor.

? This is the first time I've heard anyone say anything bad about the stitching for GoPro.

They filmed me trying to teach him, but he wouldn't step foot on it.   I knew we wouldn't get anything camera ready out of him without previous practice, which is why I tried so hard to give him some lessons in the weeks leading up to this. His schedule ended up throwing a wrench in those plans, but I'm still happy with how it all turned out.

Look at his channel Eddie, it's all Insta360 One (he could be stitching with an older app, as I've read an older Insta360 app (not sure desktop or mobile) had a stitching issue, now resolved):

I've never heard a bad thing about GoPro Fusion stitching from all the 360 pundits in my research before purchasing, it's actually considered one of, if not the best (albeit, there basically is no mobile workflow for the GPF).

I've worked in-and-around quite a few recording artists, as that is my trade.... you're lucky you even got the time you got, they are a super flaky bunch.

Nice camera time though! One of my memories as an intern at a major record label was opening the door of the studio to find T-Pain playing around in a box of bubble wrap

The camera lens looked like it had water drops on it. Maybe that messes with the stitching process (unless both lenses have the identical water drops :)).

I guess I'm showing my age when I say I've never heard of "T-Pain"

LOL, T-Pain is by no means a household name like a Beyoncé.

He's most famous for popularizing the use of the software Auto-tune for vocal effect (like robot-ifying vocals), more than its intended function as actual, transparent pitch correction (Auto-tune dramatically changed pop music in the 90's where lesser singers could be "fixed" in the mix, unlike the 80's where you had to pull tricks like vocal doubling and reverb to hide lesser singers.... T-Pain can actually sing without Auto-Tune though).

Cher's 1998 song "Believe" first briefly introduced the idea of Auto-tune as a vocal effect

While T-Pain almost a decade later made it a cornerstone of his vocals, as seen here on probably his biggest solo hit in 2007, "Bartender"

Thanks, BTW I was impressed by your rope method for the Crossing of pedals and Thompson. You could have saved me a few bruises. ;)

Too bad I am getting old. Now I have to get good with the jumps, re ouch...

I am lucky to have a partner in crime for EUC. She is more conservative and learns from my mistakes. :)

...

A few things. It's Rylo. I haven't found a way to stitch in app.

My protective lens is scratched for my Rylo. It is the reason why it looks like that.

I don't think I've ever felt as unwelcome in a community before. I appreciate that a lot thanks. I'm out.
