  1. I am spending roughly half of my time on the EUC with intentionally learning and improving riding skills (which makes it some +500h and +5000km of deliberately practicing). I like to believe that many if not most of these skills are relevant for riding safety. In this context I started to wonder about skills that would (have some chance to) prevent falls and broken bones and are potentially available too many or most riders. In this thread I am not so much interested in discussing any possible or relevant safety measures and their effectiveness (like awareness and attention, underconfidence, reducing speed, learning to fall, wearing safety gear,...), but in riding skills that can prevent falls and broken bones and specifically the following questions: Q1: Are there specific riding skills that prevent falls (and broken bones)? I think the answer is quite obviously yes. Beginners are much more likely to fall and, when put in the same situation as an advanced rider at the same speed, will hurt themselves badly with quite some likelihood. Q2: Which specific riding skills prevent falls (and broken bones)? Q3: Which specific riding skills that prevent falls (and broken bones) do not come naturally with time? Q4: What are the specific riding skills that prevent falls (and broken bones) that many riders would be willing and able to acquire (or to improve)? I am pretty sure that training for half a year every day for half an hour is not an investment that many people are willing or able to make, that is, the path to the skills I am looking for must be somewhat cheaper. For example, training while on a regular trip anyway, or training half an hour for a week or two. One simple example that comes into my mind: managing longitudinal grooves. When I am not in a hurry and at moderate speed, I often try to scan the surface for longitudinal grooves and ride over in the most vicious way I can think of. Like this, I get more and more acquainted to and relaxed with this particular challenge. I have seen @Mike Sacristan suggest something along these lines in a vid as well. Q5: THE live saving habit is flexible knees. To be effective, a reflex to bent the knees must be much faster than any consciously taken action can be (hence it is called a reflex). What is the shortest path to acquire flexible knees? I have lately started to consciously always keep the knees in front of my (conceived) center of gravity. This looks like a promising recipe, keeps the knees bent and is easy to do in principle (though it does take a bit of continuous muscle work). How could we actually know its effectiveness? When unexpectedly separating from the wheel, to prevent the body to get into a forward rotation may be the single most important aspect to prevent broken bones. Keeping the knees in front of the CoG should make a body rotation (much?) less likely to be initiated? I also find the conception of moving the wheel under the body quite helpful. This makes me better aware of how bent the knees are: with straightened knees it feels quite uneasy and uncomfortable to move the wheel back and forth under the body.
  2. I've been riding the V5F+ for almost a year, and it's been great for recreation but I'm looking for something with more distance capability for my daily commute. I'm trying to find something with a bit more top speed to, if at least as a buffer to prevent sudden slowing, and preferably not too big and bulky. Finally, it needs to be reliable and safe. I've heard about issues with Gotway ACM involving the pedal breaking, so I'm wary of that one. Please let me know of any recommendations for these criteria for less than $3k, (preferably less than $1.5k if possible). Thanks!
  3. Let's put together a dream list for a euc. then manufacturers may use it to create a new product we like. So. an upper speed limit that can be kept in all conditions. up hill, flat, heavy riders, all battery levels. range at top speed in varied incline, ca. 100 km, not under 80km. top speed where tilt back occurs and you can coast in total safety no matter your weight or hill incline or battery level: 50 bose suspension system that eliminates or ammeliorates bumps actively or at least some suspension system. A way to just walk off the wheel and go into a store or to a friend without having to bend down and do anything and just step on again and drive off. Use of a belt to allow a lower profile of the wheel with a bigger radius wheel. maybe you can have a small wheel with a shock absorbing system. that would be nice because you can turn better with a small wheel. A wide tread for riding over potholes and uneven paths. keep the machine well under 10kgs. have a way of leading it around without carrying it. have a way of locking it so you can arrive in the city centre cinema and meet your friends without looking like a tool/doofus fool on a scooter/wheel in your hand. Charger must be integrated into the machine so it follows you around. Swithcable front and back light. side blinking lights/turn lights activated by some smart measure. kilometres range left displayed in big bold numbers on a black and grey 7 segment display. (kilometres left will be based on your previous driving that ride or all history or a worst case scenario of say 10 degree incline, full speed. ) Usb power, induction power and a normal power output plug. 110V/240V induction charging pad for your regular parking spot. a spiked tyre for use on ice in winter. no geared motor. only direct drive for silent operation. silent tread on rubber. Water tight unit that can turn over in a puddle and survive. must be able to run in sleet and rain. gravel, sand and snow. and on ice. If a battery is used, an insulating system or heating system that ensures maximum range available. cooling system for hot weather. preferably a mostly passive system. (more robust, less energy intensive and less prone to break. All of this has to be packaged into something robust and nice looking while remaining fairly anonymous looking.

When refer to waterproof and heat radiation for EUC,there are many players interest to the waterproof function.But when face accident ,they will be recall heat radiation for EUC maybe much more improtant. Meanwhile this manily reason cause accident are many factor include player and production.In my opinion,I will choice which onne is better in heat radiation such Rockwheel GT16.I am suggest that riding in rainy day. Waterproof is not good for heat dissipation and also that is not safe riding in raining or wet places.Even you can riding in rainy day that will destory your EUC for not so long .Do you know why?
  5. My hoverboard just came in the mail a few weeks ago and just as it arrived I had seen news posts on them exploding. So instinctively I did some research. Come to find out the board I bought was not certified and the battery/charger weren't certified/safe either. So I went onto Amazon to find replacement battery and charger. Would replacing the battery on this be safe and would it be effective? Also the voltage on the battery is 36V 4.4Ah and the adapter/charger OUTPUT is 42V 1.5Ah w/ 100-200V charging requirement (In the product desc. it says 24V, would that also affect/ruin the battery if its too little?). Would that affect the safety/charging rate of the board/battery? One more question, is there a difference between female and male chargers (serious question)? Sorry for how many questions there are but can someone that is educated on technology please reply and answer ALL the questions they can? I don't want opinions I want facts.
  6. I really want to buy a hoverboard for Christmas but I have heard that a lot of brands don't use safe batteries and result in the board catching fire. I have done research for almost days trying to find a safe board to get. The 1 im looking at currently has a 36V,4.4ah Samsung Li-ion battery. Can someone please tell me if thats a safe battery and it for sure wont catch on fire? Thanks!
