Now that there is an e-scooter section on this forum, we need to differentiate between 'portable' and 'not-so-portable' varieties. Electric Vespa's and similar type scooters are on the way. (Europe already has several options and the U.S. has a couple as well.) High performance e-scooters that weigh over 50lb/22kg are in a grey area, but I'd like to make a clear distinction between 'e-scooters that take us places' and 'e-scooters that we can take with us'... (Let's focus on the latter here.)
I finally have an i5 in my hands! I wanted to make a post to document the process as I test it as well as to try and answer any questions the community has. If there is a certain test or questions please ask and I will try to get everything answered. Currently waiting for the battery to charge before I start recording and testing. Super excited. First impression is that it is unbelievably thin. The width is almost identical to a standard glass bottle. IBC Root beer tested. It also is definitely light, I haven't weighed it yet but the shipping weight was 22 pounds as a whole so it seems to be on par with IPS claims.
Do somebody know a site where a power bank is sold for EUC's with the appropriate plug. This would be nice when you do exceptionally a long distance without finding a plug. Even if you have a EUC with big battery (60km range), after 2 years the capacity decreases to the half or to one third of the initial distance range. For normal daily travel, even 20km range would still be enough but it is possible that you want to do more some day. A power bank can be the solution.
I recently got a 12 inch ips (130WH) that I really like for small trips or when I know I will have to carry my EUC inside somewhere. What are some other compact and lightweight eucs that would be good for traveling? Lets stick to whatever the airline limit is supposed to be for battery, which i believe to be 130WH.
