  1. Now that there is an e-scooter section on this forum, we need to differentiate between 'portable' and 'not-so-portable' varieties. Electric Vespa's and similar type scooters are on the way. (Europe already has several options and the U.S. has a couple as well.) High performance e-scooters that weigh over 50lb/22kg are in a grey area, but I'd like to make a clear distinction between 'e-scooters that take us places' and 'e-scooters that we can take with us'... (Let's focus on the latter here.)

    Dream Electric Unicycle

Let's put together a dream list for a euc. then manufacturers may use it to create a new product we like. So. an upper speed limit that can be kept in all conditions. up hill, flat, heavy riders, all battery levels. range at top speed in varied incline, ca. 100 km, not under 80km. top speed where tilt back occurs and you can coast in total safety no matter your weight or hill incline or battery level: 50 bose suspension system that eliminates or ammeliorates bumps actively or at least some suspension system. A way to just walk off the wheel and go into a store or to a friend without having to bend down and do anything and just step on again and drive off. Use of a belt to allow a lower profile of the wheel with a bigger radius wheel. maybe you can have a small wheel with a shock absorbing system. that would be nice because you can turn better with a small wheel. A wide tread for riding over potholes and uneven paths. keep the machine well under 10kgs. have a way of leading it around without carrying it. have a way of locking it so you can arrive in the city centre cinema and meet your friends without looking like a tool/doofus fool on a scooter/wheel in your hand. Charger must be integrated into the machine so it follows you around. Swithcable front and back light. side blinking lights/turn lights activated by some smart measure. kilometres range left displayed in big bold numbers on a black and grey 7 segment display. (kilometres left will be based on your previous driving that ride or all history or a worst case scenario of say 10 degree incline, full speed. ) Usb power, induction power and a normal power output plug. 110V/240V induction charging pad for your regular parking spot. a spiked tyre for use on ice in winter. no geared motor. only direct drive for silent operation. silent tread on rubber. Water tight unit that can turn over in a puddle and survive. must be able to run in sleet and rain. gravel, sand and snow. and on ice. If a battery is used, an insulating system or heating system that ensures maximum range available. cooling system for hot weather. preferably a mostly passive system. (more robust, less energy intensive and less prone to break. All of this has to be packaged into something robust and nice looking while remaining fairly anonymous looking.

  8. Need a wheel to learn on and scratch up before you get your "ultimate" EUC? An Airwheel X3 is perfect: cheap, durable, not too fast ... and did I mention cheap? This one still has a good battery (130 wh), lots of scratches but no serious damage, and it works perfectly. Foam has been applied to the sides but can be easily removed. Complete with charger, training wheels, and air valve extension. Tire is in good shape and holds air. Black color. $100 firm for local pickup (Tucson AZ) or $100 + actual shipping costs to you. I'll even clean the dust off ...

    Shady Ebay Sellers?

Here is some auctions I been following that are just too sketchy for me. I passed on an A1 ($335) as well as a V5 ($375) yesterday because they all have no previous sales or ratings and all these auctions started this week and they all have different profiles. What do y'all think? If you are into it go bid on them...I'm still hesitant.

Where to buy IPS191 340Wh cheapest?

Hey people Someone knows where I can buy the IPS191 cheapest? I've seen this web http://shopelectricunicycle.com/ but I distrust. Thanks!
  12. Hi all, Just saw this seller in EBay, selling very cheap hoverboards, ninebots mini and airwheel. Looks like all his 40 positive feedback is from selling clothes... I suppose that with PayPal you are covered, but most likely you'll have to ask for the refund, and mayba the scam works because some people would not bother asking for the refund. http://m.ebay.com/sch/i.html?sid=auandre_u0vqqb&_pgn=1&isRefine=true It looks very similar to the Wish app scams we've been discussing previously.

    Generic OEM - Unicycle-A2

Hi People, I tried an electrical unicycle about one and a half month ago at a barbecue, after that, I immediately ordered one Update I measured the range using a gps on a real track, and apparently it has the better range than first noted ~10km, I have updated the text accordingly. After increasing the tire pressure from ~1bar to 3.1bar, the range was increased by 3 km to ~13km I purchased the cheapest electrical unicycle I could find on amazon.co.uk - no specs, and I expected to pay import tax, luckily, that didn't happen. Now, since I'm starting to get annoyed about various aspect, I trawled the net until I found the manufacturer... it is here: http://www.mywheel2014.com/product/product-47-79.html Some stats: Price: 297€ Motor-Power: 350W (Probably a bit smallish for me, my weight is ~78kg) Specified range: 18-20km Real Range: approximately 13km, (I will have to find some flat track with known length to test more exact.) Pros: CheapFun to ride while full battery (20min)Cons: Weak battery (Only really fun for 20min, ok perhaps 30 min)Horrible build quality (The battery lid broke off in a crash and the battery fell out...)hurts the calvesGets unstable to ride after 25min, so you have to be very careful with acceleration.I can supply some more pictures documenting how it is possible to make the worst imaginable design for the hull... Hint, the battery lid, the thing that the rubber part folds around. There is nothing but the screws to help the lid withstand frontal force. Here are some pictures of the beast: And the part that have fallen off (Fixed with Gaffa-tape)
  15. So i purchased a chinese knock off of what i believe to be the air wheel(lol hard to tell), and it doesn't appear to be working at all. When you turn the unit on, it goes forward, backward, then maintains a constant BEEEEEP, until i turn it off. When i plug the charger in, no indication lights come on that it is charging. The company gave me a refund, and let me keep the unicycle, and so i would like to try and fix it, I am fairly tech savy, and have checked to make sure the charger and battery are both working. any ideas what else it could be? much appreciated on the help!
