  1. Hello readers and riders! I apologize for my English, if it has any errors. First of all, let me introduce myself: My name is Ilya, I'm the iOS Developer since 2009. Also I have Ninebot One E since April 2015. Then I decided to combine these skills into my new app - DarknessBot. The application is available only for iOS 9.0 and higher. Ninebot haven't presented any official APIs yet, so I cooperated with the GyroMetrics developer - Paco Gorina (special thanks for helping with Ninebot BLE protocol) The application from the active EUC owners! It supports the following models: ► Ninebot One (C, C+, E, E+, P) ► Inmotion (V3, V3C, V3S, V3Pro, V5, V5+, V5F, V8, R1, R1N, R1S, R1S, R1T, R1AP, R1CF, R1EX, R2, R2N, R2S, R2EX, L6) ► Gotway (MCM2, MCM4, ACM, MSuper V1/V2/V3, Monster) ► KingSong (14, 16, 18) Features: ◉ Modify tiled interface that you can customize ◉ Displaying all available metrics through Bluetooth LE: ► Current speed ► Maximum speed ► Total mileage ► Remaining mileage (depending of rider's weight, the battery charging cycles, and weather conditions) ► Total runtime ► Battery level ► Temperature of the controller (not for all models) ► Power ► Voltage ► Longitudinal and transverse tilt (not for all models) ◉ Logging and displaying graphs of metrics (up to a month) ◉ Record video from a camera with a sensor display ◉ Changing the riding mode (not for all models) ◉ Changing maximum speed (experimental) ◉ Changing the maximum speed on limited mode (experimental) ◉ Changing lock mode (not for all models) ◉ Changing limited speed mode (not for all models) ◉ Compass and weather forecast ◉ Apple Watch support ◉ HealthKit Integration What next: ◉ One more thing Beta test 1.2 ◉ Support Ninebot One A1/S2 Application for free, but it has a few paid functions. So I provide 40 promocodes for this forum. Promocodes Download from Appstore
  2. I updated to FW 1.07 yesterday and did extensive testing yesterday and today. Speed and throttling: On FW 1.05 I rarely hit 50 kmh. I really have to push the soft tiltback and I am not a big fan of that. Also I have only been able to reach 50 kmh with a pretty fresh battery. As voltage drops I then get stuck at 48, 47 and eventually down to 45 kmh soft tiltback. This would continue down to 72V. I would rarely push on the soft tiltback at FW 1.05 because I was unsure about the power reserves. This is something that nagged me more and more as time has passed because it has stopped me from pushing the wheel (and myself). FW 1.07 is similar but with once difference: When I was at 75v I pushed a bit on the soft tiltback to see what would happen. So instead of riding the soft tiltback gently I went into a more medium-aggressive lean on the pedals. It was still quiet. I then hit some bumps and at that point it did 4 beeps in quick succession. It only did this once and this is the 88% overpower alarm. Once the bumps were gone it was quiet again. This was a huge relief for me because it was the missing link I was looking for. At the skate park I smacked too aggressively into a high climb and the wheel let out a high amp warning. It has done this in 1.05 as well. On my way home today I was doing 30kmh at below 64v. It was letting off battery alarms and medium tiltback. I then went up a 22 degree ramp and it didn't make a sound. During the very last halv V under load I was still doing 20kmh and also throwing my body back and forth on the wheel to see if I could get it to do the 4 beeps at me which it did a couple of times. The numbers above where not achievable going up slight inclines as the 16x loses some speed there. Also I don't have data for below 70v on the 16X with FW 1.05 as I rarely went that low. 34kmh at 67v is good enough for me. Range: I did 73km. Temperature was +3C. Riding weight was 69.5kg. This was spread out over 2 days. 50km yesterday. Lights: There are more light modes for the headlight. And rear indicators for turning. Nice features. Charging: I am currently charging with a 1Radwerkstatt charger which tends to charge between 5.0A and 5.1x A. The wheel is quiet and has been for an hour now. Climbing: Feels the same. Perhaps a tiny bit harder. Pedals: Feels the same. Perhaps a tiny bit stiffer. Acceleration and braking: Feels smoother. So what does this mean as many have said it before... It feels less jerky. Any spikes and irregularities in body movement or pedal movement seems to be smoothened out. This makes acceleration and braking easier for me. It was too twitchy before and cause me to wobble. Also it being a 16X wheel one would expect some crazy acceleration from it. Simon (18 XL), Thomas (MSX) and I did a drag race when I was on FW 1.05. We are all even. I accelerated harder than I usually do. I have way more riding time and experience than Simon and Thomas put together. But the 16X holds me back. Now with smoother 1.07 acceleration AND a 88% warning AND a high amp warning maybe I can finally push the wheel. However it was quite interesting that the 16X did not have a clear advantage when it comes to acceleration and that was against 18" wheels. So because of that little drag race I felt that there was no big loss in upgrading to FW 1.07. The wheel is less twitchy now and I feel more relaxed on it. Some of this could be in my mind as well of course. Final words: 1.07 feels safer and more mature. It feels smoother and more robust. I think at this point the 16X is quite a mature product. I did not use the speakers but I might further on. Let me know if I missed anything or if you would like me to to do some more tests. Day 1 of riding Day 2 of riding Final thoughts / review
  3. Hi guys, I have modelled in 3D a STAND for my KingSong KS-14D EUC that can be fabricated with a 3D printer. You can find and free download all files (STP, STL) and pictures from my account on GRABCAD: https://grabcad.com/library/kingsong-ks-14d-electric-unicycle-stand-1 If your printer is not big enough consider printing it in 2 or 4 pieces that you glue together afterwards. I have created as well a support/fixture for the battery charger. This allows for a better cooling of the charger and avoid overheating (I smoked one after the first 5 charging cycles...) and can be used as well to fasten the charger on the wall if needed. You can find and free download all files (STP, STL) and pictures on my account on GRABCAD: https://grabcad.com/library/kingsong-ks-14d-battery-charger-stand-fixation-1 Ciao, Roberto
  4. Hello, I am planning on buying a ks 16s (840wh) as a first wheel, I am from Barcelona (Spain). I have seen a lot of different prices online, these are some of them (they are approximations because some required to start the purchase process to see the shipping price): ~1200€ in Aliexpress (item currently not available) 1360€ in myewheel ~1400€ in erides.co.uk 1450€ in 1radwerkstatt ~1500€ in eunicycles.eu ~1600€ in speedyfeet (sold out) ~1700€ in kingsong european sites and local physical stores My main question is if someone has experience with these sites, (specially the cheaper ones), because in Aliexpress the item alternates availability every couple of weeks and only shows 2 sales, which does not give me much confidence, and I don't know anything about erides or myewheel. I just know that I can trust speedyfeet and the local physical stores for good customer support but I wonder if that is really worth the price difference. Thank you in advance!
  5. KS14M 800W 174WH, upgradeable to 348WH AFAICS 20 km/h, goes up to 30 km/h with 2 batteries So this new KS14M model seems to replace the old KS14B (quick swappable batteries). Looks like unfortunately they couldn't implement a way to once again make this model quick-swappable battery-wise, so this model seems to be targeted as a cheap price point wheel / travel wheel. 6. I'm having a similar problem described in these threads. see context for all the details i have https://forum.electricunicycle.org/topic/7670-ks16s-stops-charging-at-76/ https://forum.electricunicycle.org/topic/15150-ks14s-stops-charging-before-100/ Unfortunaety i'm going to mexico for 10 days and wont' be able to troubleshoot. I've emailed Jason from ewheels, and he says it should be safe to ride but be more careful at lower voltage. I'm concerned my packs will become more out of balance or some of the cells might be charging beyond 4.2v to make up for a possibly bad cell (if that's what's causing the issue). I can live with my beloved 18s even at 80% capacity and going at a max of 16-18mph if need be. but if my concern is right, i should eventually open it up and diagnose. I'm a little concerned about dissaseembling it, but I know someone here probably knows of a good guide on this forum or video to look at to help. Do you think my problem below is one easily enough solved by a college electrical engineering student? thanks very much ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- CONTEXT I've had the wheel for 1 yr now, I purchased it from somebody who purchased it from ewheels, but likely the warranty is over. In my year of having the unit, I have charged it to "100%" two or three times (but im not sure how long extra i kept charging when the green leds came on), while mostly keeping it charged around 75 to 80% This just started happening last week, and I've reproduced the problem at least twice (after discharging and riding the wheel and recharging) here some additional information: 1) The charger shows the green LED 2) Connected via Wheellog App it shows 77% charged and 62.4V 3) the wheel itself shows 8 bars 4) I've checked it with TWO ewheels smart chargers at various amps and various % settings. I cannot get it to charge beyond this point at any of the settings 5) the Charger got to around 64.1 or 64.2 v (i've always noticed the charger is 1 to 1.5v higher than what wheellog reports) before the green led on the charger lights up and then it showcases 67.2 - sometimes 67.8v 6) I have not checked the voltage on the prongs of the charger yet. 7) i have not opened the device and measured voltage on the battery pack itself 8) I've charged it in two different places/two different outlets using one of the smart chargers
  7. I am selling a battery for Kingsong KS-14B, I wanted for a project but in the end it wasn't able to use as intended. Picture
  8. Ready to move up from my Z6 which I've had for a few months now. Looking for something with a little more speed and range - 16x is at the top of my list! Let me know if you have one for sale:)
English: I want to start an Austrian group. Feel free to post in English or German (I live during the week near the UN-City in Vienna, and spotted some EUC riders entering it, maybe they don't speak German). From time to time I'll post infos and fotos about nice EUC trails here in Vienna or in Styria, where I originally come from. Maybe others can do the same for the areas they live in. Cheers, HtG
  10. I just got back from a 43km cruise with my wife and a friend. I was on my 16X. Temperature today was 7C and then 11C. Nice and sunny. Here are the stats: Rider: Mike EUC: 16X Riding weight: ~70kg Battery start and stop: 95% - 3% (66v) (also for some reason my 5A charger didn't charge the 16X all the way to 100) The first 18km took the battery down to 50% and the internal temperature according to Darknessbot was 15C and later on it was 31C. Rider: Monika EUC: MSX 84v Riding weight: ~70kg Battery start and stop: 97% - 50% (56% after resting) Rider: Petra EUC: Tesla Riding weight: ~60kg Battery start and stop 100% - 50% This is the worst range I have ever seen but also the first time we are down to single digits here! I'm gonna try again later and see if it does the same thing. I expect at least similar battery usage as the MSX. My battery was down to 60% after 18km and had dipped as low as 47%. We were riding between 30-40kmh and then we slowed down for the remainder of the cruise. Anyone else living in a cold country with a similar experience? I might need to get my 16X a fur coat if this keeps up.
  11. Hi, I'm selling my basically brand new Kingsong 18XL (50 miles on it). No scratches or pedal scrape and in flawless condition (see pictures). I also added magnetic pedals for a seamless transition from closed to open. Includes the 84.2v/5A Rapid-charger from eWheels and original charger from manufacturer ($150 value). Originally purchased from Jason at eWheels August 2019 with ~11 months of warranty left on it (see receipt). I prefer my 16S, so looking to get rid of this. Local pickup in NYC only See pictures via the following link: https://www.flickr.com/photos/184815834@N02/
  12. I recently came across some code for communicating with KS devices. I've always wanted an Android Wear app for my KS-16S, and now I've my own app that works for me. I still need to display a few things like distance, temp. and current. The app does not require a phone, as it communicates directly with the wheel. It's KingSong only for now. I'm asking my fellow EUC enthusiasts if any of you have Android Wear, and do you have an interest in such a thing. If there is sufficient interest, I can do the extra work to test this out on a few more watch form factors, add metric units, and publish to the Google Play Store (free of course). Long run, I may try to add more wheels (I have an InMotion, so that would likely be next). If not, I'll move on to another pet project Here's a screen cap (This is from my Ticwatch-E)
  13. So, opportunity has finally arisen to allow my third wheel purchase. But I can't decide between the Kingsong 16x and the Gotway Monster v3. I have a z10 and an MSX rn and I'm looking for a slightly different ride, I feel like the 16x would handle similar to the MSX while the monsters larger heavier size would feel more rugged. Insight Anyone?
  14. There may be a post about this already, in fact, I'd be surprised if there wasn't, but my searches turned nothing up. Can people with extensive experience with a few different wheels offer their take on the feel of different wheels, i.e. how they ride, how they handle off road, are they twitchy, torque-y etc. Might be a good guide for people choosing new wheels and possibly newbies to the scene.
  15. I just got my new Monster V3 on Saturday and I already have 173 miles on it in three days. I came from a Kingsong 18L so I wanted something with more range. My first ride I only got 50 miles out of it and I was a little disappointed. Granted that ride was at 20 to 30 mph with hills and carving basically enjoying my new wheel. Fully geared I’m about 185lbs. I did a second range test today. This time I tried to keep my speed between 15 20mph to see what kind of range I could get. I had 70 miles before dropping below 20% battery. Stopped at 75.4 but could have squeezed out a few more and got at least 80 miles. Not bad on one charge but I will never go this slow again to get this kind of range! I’m very happy with my new purchase. The seat is back ordered and I can’t wait to try this wheel seated especially when on long rides! Compared to my Kingsong it’s so smooth and quiet. I still luv my 18L and think I’ll keep it for now to ride in the rain and shorter rides. Cheers!
  16. GyroMetrics is a free application for logging data and controlling an EUC in a device independent way. See for an introduction. 9BMetrics worked with Ninebot and now it works with Ninebot, Gotway, Kingsong and InMotion. As I don't have all the wheels some support is better than others and all feedback is welcome. The application also uses the AppleWatch if available for showing information, starting/stopping recording and locking/unlocking the wheel or sounding the horn (in Kingsong), @Chriull has devloppend some GNUPLOT scripts for presenting the information which are vailable here. Also some Python generic scripts are available at following posts. First Gyrometrics version is 2.5 which has the following differences with 9BMetrics 2.4: - For Ninebot Users You may enable or disable speed limit from settings while connected You may lock / unlock wheel when connected From the watch you may lock / unlock the weel by doing hard press and selectiong the option in the menu - For KingSong Users Now horn works from the watch. Just a double tap in the center field and should play it - For InMotion Users (all beta features, sorry my accesibility is rare) Disabled serial number checking. Should connect with V8 Lock / Unlock may or may not work as explained for Ninebot Users - For everybody Python Scripts that work in Pythonista and in normal desktop environments (They work in the iPhone ) for plotting data directly from new .9bz archives. Will put them in the GyroMetrics topic Working in new features : Current visible in the watch, color shows direction Battery color will change to orange in phone and watch if battery level > 90% and current is < 0 Other features : Incremental saving - So if application crashes ypu don't loose all data Autocalibration of distance and speed
  17. I cannot wait for 1.07 to come out. I do not know how many more rides listening to that on the way home I can take. Looking on the bright side pedestrians are more aware of me at lower battery. Haha
  18. These three EUCs have all sold, but there are plenty more available from eWheels! I've got three EUCs for sale. I'm in Los Angeles, California and will give you a free introductory training session, first time riders welcome, or a more advanced training session, if you're experienced. Whatever your skill level, I can help you be a better rider. If you like, I also can help you update the firmware, get the right App, connect to your smartphone, inflate the tire, and do what I can to make sure you're all set-up. No shipping charge, if we meet. Shipping cost will vary, depending on your location in the contiguous U.S. No shipping outside the U.S. 1. Ninebot One Z10 for $1475 with 3.8 miles on it and in perfect condition. Never dropped, has no issues at all. 995Wh battery. 28 MPH top speed, 25-45 mile range. I purchased it through eWheels, so if any repairs should become necessary (none needed now) it can go through eWheels. The warranty recently ran out. This Ninebot One Z10 is no longer available. It's been sold. <Pictures of it deleted> 2. GotWay MSX (Msuper X) 100V version, $1600, with 6.1 miles on it. Includes a 3D printed fender from eWheels. The MSX is in good condition, some low speed drops with minor scuffing under the pedals. Includes a new seat that has never been used. 1230Wh battery. 40+ MPH top speed, 50-60 mile range. (A new GotWay MSX 100V currently sells for $500 more, $2100 on eWheels, with a one year warranty). Warranty on this used MSX for sale is valid for six more months until March 1, 2020 through eWheels. When the warranty expires, should it need any repairs, it can be done through eWheels. I will also be available to help out, should there be any questions or issues, both before and after the warranty expires. You have double support on this wheel, triple, if you include the GotWay warranty. This GotWay MSX is no longer available. It's been sold. <Pictures of it deleted> 3. King Song KS-18XL for $1850 with no miles on it, never been ridden, still sealed in the box. 1554Wh battery. 31 MPH top speed, 60-70 mile range. Has the larger, better 10-inch pedals (factory installed) AND includes a 2nd charger. Factory warranty through King Song valid until January 1, 2020. The 18XL pictured is another one I have just like it, not the one still in the box. This King Song KS-18XL is no longer available. It's been sold. <Picture deleted>
  19. Im curious to see what other people think of the 3 different riding modes you can choose between on the Kingsong wheels, and how it affects the performance, and the feeling of riding, and also importantly which mode you prefer to ride on? I ride a Kingsong 18XL, which is my first wheel, and the one i've learned to ride on. So far I've ridden the entire time completely on "experient mode", with the exception of trying learner mode while I was learning. Recently I've been playing around with the settings and have been trying "riding mode" I can notice some difference between these modes, and I'm not sure which one I like more now. Anyways, what are your thoughts/ experiences?
  20. Hey guys, I'm completely new to Electric unicycles. I've never ridden one, but am itching to get on one. I don't make a lot of money currently to spend on things I want, so I've been saving for a while now to buy my first EUC. Ive finally just saved up enough. My thoughts are this - I understand most people buy a beginner wheel to learn on and beat up until they become proficient, and then upgrade to a better faster wheel. My thing is that I probably will only be able to afford one wheel for now, and won't be able to buy another one in the foreseeable future. If I want I have just enough for a Kingsong ks 18l, or I can go with the ks 16s. I think both are sweet. Will it be too hard to learn on an 18l? My use will be riding for fun, more in the country, longer rides and exploring. Not really any commuting and not much city riding for me. Thoughts please? Thanks!
  21. Hey guys, Wondering if some of you who have ridden both the 18L and the Tesla can chime in. I'm coming from the KS16B, and I outgrew it speed-wise about a year ago but have been waiting for the 18L. I love pretty much everything about the 18L from what people are saying, but in looking at the Tesla, I'm wondering if that extra 7mph in top speed (from 30mph to 37mph) will be something that bugs me a few months after getting an 18L. I know with my KS16B, the ~19 mph max speed felt pretty slow within a few months of riding in bike lanes and streets, and if I had had the option of getting something faster (which didn't really exist at the time), I would have wanted that. Those of you guys riding the 18L, are you pushing against the 30mph limit and wishing you had the extra 5-7mph of something like a Tesla? And are 30mph / 37mph speeds relatively comfortable cruising speeds for each? Or is it too crazy cruising at ~37mph on a 16" wheel? My 16B isn't terribly unstable, but it also doesn't go 30+ mph. Last thing -- i've heard somewhere of something called the "gotway glide" which is supposed to be some ethereal quality that GW EUCs have that make them really smooth or something. Does this apply to the Tesla? And is it noticeably absent from the KS18L? Thanks in advance.
  22. Hey everyone, I was wondering if anyone was interested in trading their wheel for both my Mten3 and Tesla. Both are perfectly fine, I've posted my Tesla on the forum a bit ago so most details about that wheel can be found on my last post in my profile section. My Mten3 is pretty much new, though I did buy it 2nd hand so I'm not aware of it's warranty status. It has about an estimate of 100 miles on it currently! It also has been converted to a tubeless tire, and it does has some cosmetic wear such as the side padding being a bit torn, I also planned on painting it. Now the reason I want to trade both wheels is I've been wanting to try out a different wheel for sometime now, as for my Tesla I've put 2,000 Miles on it. On the other hand the Mten3 is very fun to ride and cruise around with though I'm more focused on my transportation needs. If anyone is interested, feel free to let me know and ask me any questions regarding both wheels. I also want to mention that I do want to trade this locally in my area which is in California, I live between San Diego and Los Angeles for reference. Now for the trading process I'm wide open for a wheel that is 18in or similar in specs to what the Tesla has to offer. Thanks once again! - Alex (Seems more people are interested in buying the wheels so the prices I’m listing are Tesla - $800 Mten3 - $700 to see pics of both wheels in-depth send me a PM)
  23. When speed is over 30km/h, the more accurate balance data the wheel controller get, the more stable riding experience that you will have. Laying the wall to do the horizontal calibration is no longer right operation for more stable riding experience during high speed. Most of user feedback to us that KS-16S V1.09 and KS-18XL V1.13 have a good riding experience.
  24. I had been happy Ninebot user since early 2016, with 2000 km range experience. I have decided to make step forward, and switch to the stronger wheel - I have decided for KS16 with 680wh A few pluses: - higher torque, - much longer range - valise type handle - integrated lights - better stability and nicer ride In general - very good wheel, however I have found that original KingSong pedals are really bad in terms of grip, rubber is soft and heavy, moreover spring based holding mechanism is terrible. Please see below my mod for the pedals: - skateboard grip offer much better stability even in wet conditions - magnetic locking mechanism is easy to lock and unlock by small kick in the lower part of the pedals - pedals lower parts are quite useful! - mod allows to make the unit lighter - KS16D with 680wh battery weight is now 16,42 kg - basic CAD knowledge and 3d printer allowed me to design and print needed parts, proper mounting of the plastic inserts require drilling 3.2 mm holes in the aluminium pedals and taping the holes with M4 thread. Experience in drilling required in order not to drill through the pedals 14 mm round neodymium magnets inserted in the pedals and into the white side bumpers are sufficient to hold pedals up. - 6 pcs of of 10mm and 6 pcs of 8mm long M4 screws are needed, also 24 washers to equalize uneven cast and mount the pedals (US modders can adapt to the locally available imperial system screws) - if somebody is interested in obtaining .stl files with plastic insert and side bumper (to be printed on the 3d printer) let me know. - mod is reversible - it is possible to unscrew pads and insert rubber back into the pedals. The next mod which I decided to go for is to add brigher LED red lights on the back - see results in the next pictures.
  25. How can I play song with ks18xl? I cant find anything in the app(new kingsong app). Thank you in advance.
