  1. Hi guys! Welcome to the exciting world of EUC AVAS!!! This thread has been created to make the most of the very cool AVAS function implemented by @Seba in EUC World's latest release. While the main (official ) purpose of AVAS is to emit sounds to alert passersby of our presence, this thread wouldn't exist if our inner child weren't ecstatic about the possibility of making our wheels sound like race bikes, spaceships and jet planes... The creative possibilities are endless and some users have already begun experimenting with custom sounds, so the time has arrived to create a dedicated thread where you can find cool sound packs created by others, upload your own, share and suggest ideas, etc. First of all, a description of the basic sounds that make up AVAS, what they are, how to use them and considerations to bear in mind when creating sounds for AVAS: Engine start: This sound is played when you connect to the wheel / enable AVAS, so it should be an engine starting (whether internal combustion or a spaceship powering on). A second of idling after start-up could be a nice touch (it's worth testing before you load it to EUC World to make sure that the end of this sound matches well with the beginning of the engine idling sound the follows it) Idling: This sound is audible when you are stationary, so it can be anything from a car/motorcycle/truck engine idling sound to a helicopter or a UFO hovering. It will be played in a loop when stationary, so regardless of file length, it's important for the end and beginning to match well so the transition is seamless. This can be tested before uploading to your wheel by opening it in your favorite audio player and playing it in a loop. The same applies to all sounds that are played in a loop. Speed-dependent sound: Sound whose pitch varies according to your speed, creating a realistic effect where your engine sound matches your riding (when accelerating or decelerating, going faster or slower, etc.). Since this sound's pitch will be altered by EUC World to match your speed, it's important for it to be a flat, sustained sound: for IC engine sounds, think of sustained cruising sounds with no acceleration/gear-changing/deceleration (this can be trickier to find than you might think). It will also be played in a loop while you're riding, so a seamless transition is important. Current-dependent sound: Think of it as a turbo-charger that kicks in when you accelerate (this does not replace the speed-dependent sound, it plays on top of it). The included sound is a high-pitched whistle, but the possibilities are endless, from a NOS effect to a jet propulsion thrust to wherever your imagination takes you. I've experimented with flat sounds so far, but I'm sure there are tons of others possibilities (heavy revving, for instance?) Temperature-dependent sound: This sound can be seen as a fun alternative to temperature alarms that alert you in an entertaining way that your wheel is gradually creeping towards overheating. An excellent use-case suggested by @Seba would be for @Marty Backe's Overheat Hill™ tests: steam escaping from a boiler (steam-train style), just subtly present as the wheel reaches a warm operating temp. (50ºC, for instance) and which gradually increases in volume until you reach 60ºC (or whatever max. temp. you've set). Aside from being a fun alternative (tons of sounds come into mind: engine rattling, hissing, etc), it provides real-time temperature feedback on warm days/steep climbs, gradually increasing its presence, as opposed to a static temp. alarm, that doesn't activate until you reach the max. value you've set for the alarm. Engine off sound: Self-explanatory. Might require some fiddling to play nicely with the idling sound the precedes it. You can find a quick guide on how to install user-created AVAS packs here: Sound specifications for users thinking of creating their own packs: Most common file formats are supported (WAV, mp3, AAC, ALAC, FLAC---correct me if I'm wrong, @Seba), but it's preferable to use sounds that are uncompressed (WAV). Update: For idling, speed-dependent, current-dependent and temperature-dependent sounds it's best to use 16-bit, 32 kHz mono PCM WAV format and keep them less than 1 MB of size. This is proven to work on most Android devices. Upload suggestions/requirements (IMPORTANT!): Since this site has a limited hosting capacity and is supported by one person only, please do not upload sounds directly using the forum attachment function. We're studying the possibility of having a dedicated AVAS sound-hosting site, but for now, I think the best solution is to share download links from Dropbox/Google Drive/whatever cloud service you use. Ideally, sounds should be named so they are easily identifiable (spaceship_start.wav, spaceship_idle.wav, spaceship_speed-dependent.wav, etc.). To keep things as organized and user-friendly as possible and not have a bunch of different files scattered throughout the thread (imagine having UFO startup one page 1 of the thread and UFO speed-dependent on page 4...) our current approach would be to bundle sounds together in a zip file and upload them as sound packs. @Seba is studying the possibility of creating a sound-pack download and auto-install function at some point, which might require a specific file-naming scheme and upload route, but this feature is still on the drawing board and he's just finished an intense development stage (AVAS, Tizen Support, etc.), so I reckon he deserves a break and downloading and loading sounds packs into EUC.W manually is no big deal for users considering the amount of development time that has gone into making AVAS possible. Now it's users' time to shine, put your lockdown idle-time to good use and unleash your creativity! Pro tips: - Your phone needs to be connected to your wheel's Bluetooth audio service (like when you play music through it) for AVAS to be played through your wheel's speakers. Otherwise the sound will come from your phone. If your wheel doesn't have in-built speakers, you can easily use a portable Bluetooth speaker (I'm sure @Unventor will be happy to share his setup) - When selecting new sounds in EUC.W., you need to disable and re-enable AVAS for changes to take effect - AVAS can be enabled/disabled by assigning it to a quick gesture on your Flic button, smartwatch, tapping on the gauge on the app's main screen, etc. - Sounds can be downloaded from a numbers of free sources (Youtube, freesound, zapsplat, freesfx, etc.) and edited using the free, open-source and cross-platform Audacity audio editor, or Adobe Audition if you're using Adobe products. There are plenty if tutorials online, but who knows, maybe there'll be an AVAS-specific tutorial by someone in the EUC World Team in the not-so-distant future... - Getting sounds just right: With IC engines, a 1/4 second more or less at the beginning or end up an idling or speed-dependent sound can mean the difference between matching engine strokes and seamless playback vs. an out-of-whack AVAS. Play around until with them you get them to your liking before loading them into EUC World for real-world testing. - On that note, I've found that the best way to test sounds prior to loading them into EUC.W. is to add them to a playlist using your favorite music player and play them in order: engine on, idle, speed-dependent sound, idle, engine off and see if they play (more or less) seamlessly. I'd say that pretty much covers the basics. I'll update/edit this introductory post with any significant/relevant changes. Edit: This thread isn't exclusively for sound-file uploads: Youtube videos with real-world examples of your crazy wheel sounds are also welcome here! (whether you're riding around the neighborhood or trolleying your wheel down the hall) One last note: A lot of people expect to find a changed world when COVID-19 restrictions are lifted and they can finally resume their life. Little do they know exactly how different a world they're going to encounter, full of lunatics from the future riding one-wheeled Harleys, spaceships, UFOs, helicopters, jet fighters, Millennium Falcons, Jetsons cars, etc.

Hi there, I´d really like to start a yt channel about euc. mainly it will cover the offroad part but I will make videos on the street to if I get the right eq! i find it really hard to get people to subscribe to my channel, would be great if you do so when you like what you see i hope a few of you enjoy it !
  3. What is the longest ride you've done on your EUC in one day? As of May 17, my longest ride was 138 miles. My route was the Santa Ana River Trail, beginning in San Bernardino CA, down to Huntington Beach and back. I rode with six other guys. Could have done with two charges, but didn't charge enough on the first charge. I know there has got to be some of you out there that have ridden longer. So far some responses have been: -Waterproofing (I guess better since it's currently pretty splash proof, but mostly without official ratings) -Lighter wheels -Easier ways to change tires -No cut offs -Open source EUC controllers
  5. Hi guys, After having an EUC for 3 years, I still have bits to learn. I currently have my first wheel; MSuper V3 and my current wheel; MSX. I have my first two alarms and tiltback disabled on my MSX and haven't taken it to top speed at all, therefore, I haven't heard the warning beeps for my last alarm. What I was wondering is at 100 percent battery, it's possible to hit the last alarm at say 30mph (Not sure what it's set by default) and slow down, but if I had say 50 percent battery, would the alarm still come on at 30mph or relevant to the output power, warning you from overpowering? Is it just speed based alarms? Will the wheel allow you to overpower it, or will it always beep depending on what output it's giving? How do you know how much power output you have left, relevant to what battery percentage you have left? It's really hard to write what I'm asking haha, hopefully it comes across okay and someone can give me a solid answer. The scenario is, when I'm riding at full battery, I'm not concentrating fully on speed as I know the alarm will sound if I go too fast, whereas when the battery power is lower, I take note and slow down as I don't want to Overpower the wheel and not hear an alarm. I'm hoping the last alarm sounds when you're close to maximum output and not a set speed. If this wasn't the case, riding at 40 percent battery would be really dangerous as the wheel has less to give and possibly not even reach the speed your alarm is set at. Please can someone firstly fathom out what I'm trying to say and possibly come up with a clear answer! Thank you! Liam.

Thank you @Chriull for giving us a special section to discuss our new innovative suspension wheel-Inmotion V11 electric unicycle. For the past few days, tons of information and questions about #inmotionV11 coming in are collected. We will try to answer every question and update it. Please follow the topic. Thanks Landing Page: https://www.inmotionworld.com/product/inmotion-v11 Suspension Q: Suspension have any specific maintenance to be done? A: There is no special maintenace need to be done except pump in different volume of air into the suspension tube once or twice a month. Since the tube is hidden inside the cover, it's not easy to break. Q: Is it interchangeable with other options available on market? A: It's Inmotion Customized suspension tube. No other replacement available on market. Q: Compared with KS model, from my perspective, what are the main strengths of V11? We don’t have the S18 in our office so that we can’t look into the details. But the hidden design of V11 will make it more compact and not easy to break. Second, V11 design is more flexible to adjust the suspension travel by pumping different volume of air. As I know, S18 only has two level adjustment. I guess, we need to get the sample to find out or @Kuji Rolls might has the answer. Power and Speed Q:IM Live(launch event) showed a 50% more powerful motor compared to V10, and a few hours late V11 power was declared the same as V10. The reason why V11 can offer stronger power is that the size of V11 motor bearing is two times bigger than V10F. Moreover, the quantities of MOS unit on V11, 12 units, is also two times more of the V10F, 6 units. It means that V11 can bear bigger current, and not easy to overheat. The rated power of both V10F and V11 are 200W. Like extreme condition, like bumps, climbing hills, the wheel will generate mass power that is much stronger than the rated power 2000w. It might be 3000w, 4000w, 5000w in peak power. In other words, the peak power of V11 is much stronger than V10F. Q: Battery Throttling begins at and Battery and reduced speed. Big change. First time of compromise on the speed limit. It's easy to fix, but not easy to make the decision. Above 30%, Top speed 50km/h; Above 80%, Top speed, 55km/h. Btw, 55km/h is another firmware that will be shared on this forum not for standard version. Inmotion V11F Possbility Q: INMOTION always a latest F version, can we wait for a V11f soon? Is next INMOTION EUC built in suspension too? A: Currently, we don’t have any plan to launch a F-version. More time will be needed to test the first generation suspension wheel, then we will think about what’s next. IP Rating Q: Since it is was built for off-road, can we expect a more resistant monocycle in all directions (pedals, motor a axis)? Also about water and dust resistance? A: The capability of waterproof, and dust resistance is highly improved from the previous model. The IP rating of the whole body is IP 55. The battery is IP 67. And pls don’t worry about the dust might get into the controller that locates below the anti-spin button. It looks empty but it can be washed by water if the dust and mud get attached on it. Add-on Accessories Q: Is there any V11 external accessories? (smartwatch, decorative LEDs, BT speakers, pads, shell colors) Add-on accessories: Seat, BT Speakers, Decorative Ambient Light are under development.

Okay let’s face it... for us hard core riders out there it’s been a fight between the MSX and the Z10 though personally I think it’s a superior wheel even without the detailed experience of the z10 I’ve had to make quite a few customizations to my wheel. share what you’ve done and perhaps it would inspire me and others! Here’s a list of things I’ve done: 1. Put ACM padding on my MSX 2.lowered pedal angles 3.outdoor hiking light mounted by Velcro 4.el wire(three strips u see in the pic) to be visible from the side 5. Mud guard 6. Slime into inner tube 7.put more grip tape as the ones on the pedal were wearing out.

  15. Almost a year ago I was bitten by the EUC bug and my life changed... for better! Not only I returned to my twenties, but my interests gradually increased towards embedded systems, DIY and hardware. Afterwards I found myself comfortable in this excellent community full of positiveness seemingly also induced by the EUC bug I'm going to disclose that I've been living around hardware without much care more than 20 years as a professional computer scientist/engineer. Also I want to admit I've changed (sub-)industries a lot because I've never been truly happy with my job, I've always had the feeling that something was missing. Now I believe that this has always been the hardware-itch which I never dared to scratch because of how complex it looked like, but it never went away. After reading many times here that EUCs are "simple machines" I finally plucked up the courage to humbly ask all the pros/gurus/hackers/DIYers of this forum for recommendations that teach basic electronics for dummies ultimately to understand, in the long term, how EUCs work. Note that I'm not asking for all-in-one dense books that require having a masters to read more than 10 pages Bonus points if you go the Open Source/Hardware route Thank you!
  16. Hi All, Sorry if this addressed somewhere else. I just started with EUC about a month ago and am obsessed. I upgraded from the KS14d to the MSX and was loving the transition. 2 weeks in some dude on a bike hardcore takes me out and sends my new MSX tumbling end over end. I was able to ride it home but now the body isn't lining up (concerned about moisture and debris getting in there), does anyone know where I can get this fixed in NYC? Eager to get back out on the road and hoping to resolve this ASAP without needing to buy another one. Total newbie in this world, so any help is greatly appreciated. Best, Jordan

  19. So I’ve beem wondering a lot lately about the legality of EUC usage here in the states. I’ve seen the post about them cracking down in London and heard that China basically has an all out ban on them in public areas so it makes me wonder about the good’ol USA. I am aware of the law protecting Segways , granting them permission to be ridden pretty much anywhere an electric wheelchair can go and basically considering them to be “pedestrians “. I also know that the reason Segway-Ninebot was able to do this is because they limited the speed too speed of most of their products to 12.5mph (roughly as fast as a human being would sprint ) .So obviously most EUC’s wouldn’t technically fall in this category. I am the only person with an EUC in my town ...and as far as I know the only one in about 100miles . I commute to and from work everyday and the police office is 2 blocks from my house . Today I stared going and riding around the back parking lot of the PD/FD (they have cones and stuff that are fun to zig-zag through ?) and have had really positive responses from them. Even passed out my 2 remaining Ewheels business cards to the officers tonight since they seemed really interested in the wheel . Offered to let them try it out but they said they couldn’t because they were on duty . So with that all said I’m just wondering how law enforcement in other areas of the county react .
  20. For me there has been a long development process in my progression of learning to ride an ECU. I’m presently about to pass the 300km mark on my first wheel (9BotE+), and I find myself still acquiring new skills with every ride. My personal experience of learning has been very different from that of many of the boasts I’ve read in forums (1 hour and I was bored of my slow wheel). Granted, I did take those with a grain of salt, armored up and put in the time to learn the wheels. Developing the skills necessary to ride an EUC has been truly rewarding, and now I can’t imagine life without one; I would be a bird without wings. For those learning, I thought I’d put together a list of keystones in my progress. For the old hands among us I curious how your progression differed. First 2.5 hours – Clinging to handrails/walls, holy smokes, is this even possible! Next 1.5 hours – A small window of hope – I started to ride 5 to 10m without a handrail. By 3km – I was able to ride around a soccer pitch, reacting but with little control. By 6m – I was riding a dirt running track, staying in lanes. By 10km – I was able to complete wide purposefully turns (right was easier than left) By 15km – I was riding the quieter streets of the neighborhood. By 20km – I was started doing longer rides – 10km+ on trails/bike paths. By 40km – I started riding busier 40kph streets. Steeper slopes, rough terrain less intimidating. By 90km – Started commuting to work, negotiating cross walks, bike lanes and heavier traffic. By 120km – Traffic awareness greatly increased. Queuing in on sound, looking back and over shoulder. Foot fatigue becomes less of an issue. By 200km – More confident in traffic. Tight turns, stops and takeoffs are becoming second nature. By 300km – Riding has become mostly effortless. It’s now easy to zone out and become too comfortable, perhaps this is the most dangerous phase of the learning curve. Still working on: Good foot placement each time on takeoff, reverse still difficult, balancing on one leg, still not a confident nighttime road rider, takeoff in difficult surface conditions, balancing at a full stop (for stop signs). I felt I had initially outgrown my 9BotE+ at around 80km, though now I’m glad I didn’t upgrade. 220km latter and I’m still learning a lot on my original wheel, largely control and awareness. After many spills and being dropkicked by a dog @ 15 kph the poor little wheel has taken a beating but still runs great! I’ve worn ankle, wrist, knee, elbow guards and full-face helmet from the beginning and have come out relatively unscathed. So much of riding an EUC is building strength and muscle memory. It’s a true satori experience, with dramatic realizations of growth. I find these moments exhilarating. What’s your experience?
  21. Hello EUC-Rider, wir sind Felix und Juli aus Deutschland, Berlin. Wir fahren seit ca. 1 Jahr Einrad und lieben es. Wir haben inzwischen auch so ziemlich alles an Einrädern getestet und im Flur zu stehen. Unsere Favouriten sind ganz klar das GOTWAY Monster und das GOTWAY MSX. Viele unserer Freunde haben wir auch bereits "infiziert" und wir verleihen alle unsere Einräder, damit immer mehr Leute es ausprobieren und Freude daran haben. Seit August diesen Jahres sind wir mit dem Wohnmobil und dem Einrad in Europa unterwegs (mehr als 2.000 km durch Schweden, Dänemark, Belgien, Spanien, Frankreich, etc...in dne letzten Monaten). Unsere Touren zeichnen wir auch immer auf Komoot auf (Beispiel: https://www.komoot.de/tour/101095429?ref=wtd). Im nächsten Jahr (Februar/März) wollen wir mit dem Wohnmobil durch Californien fahren. Natürlich wollen wir auch dort nicht auf unsere Einräder verzichten. Leider ist es nicht so einfach bzw. so gut wie unmöglich unsere Einräder nach Californien zu bekommen. Kennt sich vielleicht jemand von euch damit aus? Hat schon mal jemand ein Einrad (GW Monster/MSX) verschickt? Kann man in Californien Einräder kaufen oder leihen (vielleicht auch von privat)? We have been unicycling for about 1 year and love it. We have now tested pretty much everything on unicycles. Our favorites are clearly the GOTWAY Monster and the GOTWAY MSX. We have already "infected" many of our friends and we rent all of our unicycles so that more and more people try it out and enjoy it. Since August of this year we have been traveling in Europe by camper and unicycle more than 2,000 km through Sweden, Denmark, Belgium, Spain, France, etc ... in the last few months). We always record our tours on Komoot (example: https://www.komoot.de/tour/101095429?ref=wtd). Next year (February / March) we want to drive through California with the camper. Of course we don't want to do without our unicycles there either. Unfortunately it is not so easy or almost impossible to get our unicycles to California. Maybe someone of you knows about it?   22. I was looking for an option for driving in the winter. Winter in Drammen, Norway is very varying. From rainy day with 5°C to -15°C snow. Some days a very icy. I have been looking for studded tires. But to no avail. The closest thing I found was studs that could be screwed into the tyre. But that needed at least 6,2 mm rubber thickness. The tires I found was between 5,5-6 mm. I didn't want to chance it. One bump and the stud would puncture the tyre/tube. In the end I ended of with the following solution. I screwed in 196 screws through the tyre from the inside out. Then I added two layers of tube that i glued to the inside of the tyre. To protect the inner tube from puncture and wear and tear. I have now ridden my Kingsong KS18L for about two weeks in total. It has worked great. The only time I struggle is when it has snowed a lot, and people has walked in the snow. Before the road has been cleared. Else it has been worked great. I have some suggestions for making it better. It would be nice to get a thin, strong mesh to clue on the inside of the tyre over the screw heads. Any suggestions on where I could get this?
