  1. LOCATION: Atlanta, GA, USA DATE: May 01, 2019 WEATHER: Clear & Mild DISTANCE TRAVELED: 14.3 miles WHICH WHEEL OR MAIN WHEEL USED: KS-18XL (and InMotion V8) WHO WAS WITH ME: Brian W. TOTAL DISTANCE ON THIS WHEEL: 178 miles BEST FEATURE OF THE RIDE: Discovered a new sculpture WORST FEATURE OF THE RIDE: Can’t think of anything RECOMMENDATIONS/WARNINGS FOR RIDERS: EUC riding can be addictive!
  2. That’s exactly what I did, too! I got my first wheel in January and self-taught just as you are doing, and it worked for me. After some very tiring (and occasionally frustrating) days, the progress starts to quicken and every day is more fun. So don’t give up if you feel like the videos made it look easier than it is. Also, if you can get video of yourself practicing, it might help. My videos helped me realize that I was bending forward at the waist way too much, on the first couple of days... once I learned to stand up straighter (better upper body posture) and with very slightly bent knees, it got better so much faster. Best of luck! And have fun!
  3. This is a long shot, but worth a try (if you haven’t tried it already)... Go to the main settings for your iPhone and then turn off Bluetooth for your iPhone for a minute, then turn it on again. Sometimes when I use unstable iPhone apps with Bluetooth, that helps with connection issues. I’ve even had to power down my iPhone completely, and then restart it, in order to reconnect to devices that have poorly designed apps.
  4. I also got mine from Jason at eWheels. Excellent service-after-the-sale is worth it, even with a wait.
  5. As of yesterday, I’m also in transition from an InMotion V8 to my new18XL. And so far, I love it! I haven’t gotten to ride it a ton yet, but it definitely wasn’t hard to get used to. And it’s much smoother. Like you, I’m not sure how much I’ll ride my V8 now, but I’ve started helping a friend learn how to ride that one — and I think I might keep the V8 around for the days when someone asks, “hey! Can I try that?”.
  6. My 18XL arrived yesterday and I only got to put 3 miles on it before it started raining here, too. Fingers crossed for great weekend weather!
  7. I’m in the exact same boat! Maybe your new 18XL and mine are traveling together. I can’t wait. :-)
  8. It sounds like you are having the same problem that I’m having — no way to load the new light patterns into the Glide 3/V8. If anyone has found a way, please let us know.
  9. I went to the “Me” tab at the bottom right corner of the app. Then I tapped on the gold coin (the one with the number of your coins beside it), in the top right corner. On the next screen you should see various choices of light patterns with a cost and a “redeem” button next to them.
  10. I tried “buying” a DIY light pattern with lecoins, and now it does show up as a purchase for me in the app. But I don’t see any way to actually load the purchased item into my V8. Anyone had any luck with that?
