  1. When I calibrated my KS I used a pallet, with a gap large enough to fit my tyre between, and plugged in the charger to keep the wheel from spinning. If this works for Inmotion, I don't know, but it could be worth a try

    Daredevil's first wheel...

There is always Finn, there is a few cheap wheels there that you could buy, learn on (and don't have to worry about scratching), before you get the XL (if thats the one you'll end up with).

    Daredevil's first wheel...

Regarding e-wheels, I've bought my wheels from them. While I personally haven't had any issues, rumor has it that they're not very good with claims etc. Though if you live fairly close to Drammen, they have a shop there, so it would be easier to get in touch with them. You could also go there to test wheels. If communing is the main use I'd go with a commuting wheel, e.g. 18XL. It can deal with offroad fairly well though. The MSX is more of an offroad wheel than the XL, but is good for commuting as well. The XL and the MSX are very similar, and both will let you do what you want. I don't think you should wait for the 16X, as that will probably be July/late-July, at best, before you would be able to get it here in Norway. And then the summer is pretty much over (depending on where you live).
  7. LOCATION: SW Norway DATE: April 19th TIME: 6 to 7 pm (or so) WEATHER: Very nice, 16-18°C, 10-12 kn winds, sunny DISTANCE TRAVELED: 28km WHICH WHEEL OR MAIN WHEEL USED: Tesla (first ride after getting the XL) WHO WAS WITH ME: Sia, and the weather TOTAL DISTANCE ON THIS WHEEL: Almost 1900km BEST FEATURE OF THE RIDE: The joy of riding after being away for 5 days. And finding a new route to go if I want to take the long way home from work (less sidewalk-riding, more trails) WORST FEATURE OF THE RIDE: Not really anything RECOMMENDATIONS/WARNINGS FOR RIDERS: Can't think of anything that hasn't been said before
  8. Hmmmm, Bambi comes to mind... I think I'll pass on the ice-riding
  9. Maybe something for us here in Norway to try, what do you think?

N00b: Z10 VS 18XL and where to buy?

There are a few options open to you, being in Sweden you could look into e-wheels.no (even, if you're close enough, go there to buy it), though of the two they only have the XL. Speedyfeet in the UK is an option (Only XL as well) There is 1radwerkstatt.de in Germany (don't think they have the Z10) AliExpress, which you've already mentioned Ewheels.com, though they are in the US (Think they've stopped selling the Z10) I think theres also someone in France, but I'm not sure what they're called.

  13. I'm riding with a Jofama MC-jacket (Swedish ) with buildt-in protection, though not able to put anything in (by design at least) on my model (Voyage). Its not D3O either. But its possible to get trousers that can be attached to the jacket, and the cost is within your spec, unless you go for the more expensive ones. E.g. Jofama Neptune €149, and trousers at €129 (NEP Pants). My jacket has a vent on the back (haven't tried it in warm weather, so don't know how it will perform) and a removable inner lining. They have different jackets and trousers, and other brandnames (Halvarssons and Lindstrands) in the family. Jofama if you want to have a look. I like my jacket at least, which is grey and orange

Add speed lock to KingSong wheel?

This is a big concern for me as well, and people who doesn't like these things (for whatever reason) will have a field day (Listhaug and Rinkeby comes to mind...).

How was it to ride on that surface? Was it wet or dry? I want to try to ride on a track like that once.
  16. Looks like you're getting the hang of it Now its just to ride and ride and ride some more, and you'll be getting another wheel soon enough

    Bend your knees

Good advise. I'm fortunate that I have a lift in my building, so I don't have to carry my XL up those stairs (4th floor) And work on the same level as I enter the building, at work. Get well, and then go out and ride!

Add speed lock to KingSong wheel?

There is no practical wheel that comply to those regulations (don't take me literal here...), as long as you behave and doesn't endanger anyone, you'll be left alone. Unsure if you're norwegian or not, or otherwise get this "phrase", but Kardemommeloven is a good rule of thumb As I own 3 wheels (one learner and two I use), and I know of at least 2 more with at least two wheels each, your claim must be untrue I haven't had any issues with the police, and I've ridden past a big policestation several times, and passed, or been passed, by police several times.

    KS16S or KS18L?

I agree with @eddiemoy, go for the 16S. The upgrade from 500W to 1200W will feel like an enormous change, and, unless you were to ride offroad (other than the gravel road), it will be more than enough for your use. Have fun!

    18XL Tire pressure

I currently have 30 psi, ridingweight of over 101kg, but am considering going for 35-40 psi. As I'm probably doing two long rides this weekend I want to increase my chances of getting there, and home again, without needing to be picked up.

    Bell Super 3R Helmet Upgrade

Very true, but in my experience it was borderline painfull, so I removed the smaller pad (of the two inside), and its much better.

    I just ordered a KS 18xl

    Bell Super 3R Helmet Upgrade

Nice review of a versatile helmet. You can remove parts of the chinpads so that it doesn't squeeze as hard on your cheeks, unless you've already done so.
  25. LOCATION: SW Norway DATE: April 7th TIME: 3-ish pm to 5:30-ish pm WEATHER: Very nice, 6-7 kt winds DISTANCE TRAVELED: Just shy of 51 km WHICH WHEEL OR MAIN WHEEL USED: KS18XL WHO WAS WITH ME: Sia (unfortunatly not in person ) TOTAL DISTANCE ON THIS WHEEL: 260 km BEST FEATURE OF THE RIDE: Riding on nice trials and roads, and Sia WORST FEATURE OF THE RIDE: Had to step off the wheel up a steep and rocky path, the wheel got its first small nick (except for pedalscrapes) . After ascending said trail, I rode along a very narrow path (20-45cm/ 8-18 inches wide) for about 2 km, this was a bit nerve wracking as the path was about 10 cm below the terrain around, so was close to hitting the plates several times. RECOMMENDATIONS/WARNINGS FOR RIDERS: Enjoy your rides!
