what jacket to get?

Recommended Posts

I've been using these for knees https://fortnine.ca/en/shift-enforcer-knee-shin-guard, and these for elbows https://fortnine.ca/en/shift-enforcer-elbow-guard. Now I would like to get a jacket that I can ride on cooler days/ evening from work etc.

Im looking for elbow, shoulder protection and if it has chest/ back im ok with that. Here is what I found so far... https://fortnine.ca/en/agv-sport-blast-vented-textile-jacket, I like that is has windproof liner, so you can still wear it on warmer days.

Since I like to go fast, Im starting to look into little more protection.

I commend you on being proactive in this regard and going with motorcycle gear which, at your speeds, is the only option.

It looks nice to me. I had a mesh jacket for my motorcycle and did find the mesh to be a little rough on the inside against my skin (arms/elbows) and without the liner to fill it out a little the pads got a little sloppy in their positioning which was a concern. It was pretty cheap (yours is not) which may account for most of this.

The pads are 1621-1 rated which is great but no mention of this for the back pad (should be 1621-2) and the text "memory foam back pad" makes me wonder if they want to protect you or help you get a comfy nights sleep in it. Back protection is not a concern for you (it would be for me, I wear a POC Spine 2.0 back protector on my 30kph max V8!!!) so maybe that isn't a big deal.

Can't comment on the price. I've been out of the motorcycle world for 10 years now and prices change. Compared to the G-Form gear I just brought (sports protective) it is well priced.
