New Ninebot One S2 rider from Germany

Hey!

I'm from Germany, near Münster. After my china X3 got Battery issues, I've ordered a new One S2 witch will delivered in the next few days.

Normally I'm using a Windows Phone. For the Ninebot App I have an old Samsung Galaxy Trend Lite witch I had to lift from Android 4.1.2 to 4.4.4 via flashing CyanogenMod 11. Now the App works. I hope the Smartphone works with the Wheel too.

I think this forum is awesome. So many people from different countys around the World. Everyone with the same Interest. That's what the web is for. It's really cool ?.

I'm so exited for the new Wheel. Riding EUC is so much fun and helps me lowering pain in my back.

There is also a German discussion thread for in the "Local Groups Meet up"...which you might want to visit.

Ansonsten: Willkommen :-)

First I choose the One C+ but the E+ got more range. Then I saw a Video about the S2 and I liked the better handle, the lower weight, the better pedals. The two Batteries promise more failure safety.

And I choose Ninebot because I like the design and I hope Segway/Ninebot build good and reliable devices.

In fact the two batteries on S2  are exactly the same as the one batterie in the E+...(2 times parallel 15 cells serialized)....so thats not any safer...

You might not want to hear that...but Ninebots are not up to date anymore.....especially performance wise!

But its a good start as first non clone device!

But the Wheel works with just one of the Batterys...?

I'm not the one who need the most performant's and most expensive gadgeds. I use a Windows Phone ?!

More money, more performance...

It is impossible to buy any Ninebots here in the UK. Ninebot botched any relationship with any vendor. Ridiculous, so the guy who originally brought Ninebot to the UK is now promoting other electric unicycles.

Speedy feet is still selling Ninebot and offering service in the UK if I'm not mistaken.

Hi Ingoman!

I'm also new in the forums too. It's cool you purchased the One S2... Did it arrived yet? Please let us know how is it going when you finally start using it.

I'm really interested in that new model of the Ninebot One. I'm not a user of these PTs, but I have the task of researching and writing about them (gearpriest.com). I recently wrote a few articles about some of the Segway products, and getting some insights from a One S2 use would be awesome. Your feedback, as brief as it might be, might prove useful to me to update our current article on the One S1 or maybe writing a new one about the One S2.

Thanks,

Martin

You should then "extend your view" to non Segway products, also....as in the unicycle branch the top players are other brands....

Ninebot/now Segway failed miserably to bring the next Version of the E+ (One P) to market....

Thanks for your feedback @KingSong69 , that's on our plans too. I will be researching for those products and working on some reviews for them. It would be really valuable to know your opinion on which brands/models you think should be reviewed. Can you you provide me your top N list?

I started researching very little about the One S2, and at least in the Segway website the only products they have is the One S1 and One E+. Is there really a One S2 or you are referring to another model "informally" with it? Sorry for the noob question, but I'm kinda lost about the "One S2"...

Thanks ;)

The topplayers in alphabetical order, there is none to say which is best, they all have there own advantages and disadvantages and models for specific marketplace:

- Gotway

- Inmotion

- Kingsong

- ninebot/segway

S1 and S2 are just name differences for american/european/asian market (or a1 was asian market?)......its more or less all the same model with a bit different batterie option.....but i can not say it with 100% knowledge....i am no Ninebot specialist

Allegedly there are three new Ninebot One wheels which look all the same: A1, S1 and S2. The A1 has 155Wh (one battery) and a 400W motor, the S1 and S2 signify the same wheel and have 310Wh (=2x155Wh) and a 500W motor. That's what I remember to have read, no warranties whatsoever, see also
