To anyone who has ridden both the 14D and 14C can you comment on the differences in terms of the ride? Which do you like better?

I rode the prototype 14d with the King Song people during my tour of their facility in Shenzhen and I own 2 14c's here in the United States of TRUMP.The 14d rode alot like your V5F that day we rode around the park near your place.I think I would give a slight preference to the 14c.

Are the pedals on it high like the V5F which cause it to have a similar feel? The 14c feels a lot more stable at high speeds than the V5F. I guess high pedals are great for tricks but you sacrifice stability at high speeds for that.

I think the pedals on the c & d are at similiar heights and lower than the v5.Last week I was working in a hugh warehouse for one of my clients and was using my 14c to carry around an 8ft. ladder over my sholder while on the wheel.I don't think I would be able to do the same riding a wheel with a higher pedal stance like the v5.

I consider the main advantage of high pedals to have a lesser chance to catch anything sticking out of the surface I am riding on. It is a quite relevant safety feature for me and I probably wouldn't ever buy a wheel with less than 13cm ground clearance again.

Another 2 months have gone by. Any new people who compared 14D with 14C?

i have taken a short ride on the 14d and owned a 14c (for about a year) before.

the difference is like night and day....the 14d pedal responsiveness is as hard as steel and its agility/answering on feet movements is really fantastic. its from all 14inch wheels the best i have riden, that have been Mcm2s, Mcm3, Mcm4 HS, Ks14c, ks14d and a generic clone

the quality of the included trolley is better than on the Ks16 as the grip itself is metal also. the Leds are brighter and that was also first time i got into the new KS pedals with rubber and grip type thing, having a more V positioning a bit also.

This thing is a hit for a 14inch wheel, and as it now should also come with higher possible batterie configs (14s with 680 or 840wh) is from my view the best 14inch wheel. Naming is a bit missunderstanding as the 14d for me is allready a "S" version, from drive feeling/firmware.

i can and do criticize Kingsong the whole day long for some of there decisions on the 16. Even more critics on the 18 inch wheel or for general business decisions...but here this 14inch thingie is a winner!

if you want something special to know...i will try to answer :-)

Well I hope the 14S will feel exactly the same as the 14D as you described then because I may pick a pair up when it's released. After I got my Inmotion V5D (same as V5F) and V8 I kind of regret it because the ride feels far less stable than my KS14C especially at higher speeds. The main good thing about the Inmotions, for me, is the button under the handle that stops the motor from spinning when you pick it up.

Have you found any issues with the firmware in relation to tiltback/speed limitation?

Some have been reporting it is far too aggressive and cripples performance once wheel drops to 50%.

@John Eucist Getting the impression you might like a more stable 16 or 18 inch wheel better (the V8 seems to feel closer to 14 with the thin tire) than any 14 inch model.

KS16 as a bigger (but still compact) KS14, ACM as powerhouse, msuper V3 and KS18 as super stable rides. Or even Lhotz with the wide tire and better price.

Well it's a compromise between going fast and straight in an open area vs maneuverability in slower and higher traffic environments. Other things to consider are integrated handles, bluetooth speakers, and things like the Inmotion "button under handle" to disable the motor when you pick it up.

I own/owned KS16, ACM, MSuperV1. I've tried the KS18 but not the Lhotz. I think (although I'm not 100% certain) it's the higher pedals in both Inmotions that makes it less stable. Initially I wanted them BECAUSE of the higher pedals (for tricks and stuff) but on hindsight the tradeoff in straight-line stability wasn't worth it. I'm definitely NOT interested in 18 inch or higher. It's going to be 14 or 16 and I'm leaning at 14 because my 14c is damn stable at high speeds (my definition of high is only around 27 km/h).

What happened? last year when I met you in Shenzhen you had just gotten the V8 and you really seemed to like the ride at that time?Especially when we rode around the park with your girlfriend.

It's just "less stable" at higher speeds. I got the death wobble from them a few times (although I got them under control). My gf was behind and was thinking "wow neat trick!" as if I did it on purpose.

Some?

I only now one Person how is complaining about the Speed reduction over and over again...

On the Original Firmware (1.00) there is no Speed Limitation on low Batterie!

on 1.01, as i understand it, there is a Speed Limit, Setting in on about 40%/58Volt ....can be here you have directly full Speed reducement, i dont know exactly.

As i know it on 1.02 they make this more progessive, going down progessivly when the Batterie gets lower....like 29,28, 26, 24 to 20.....

The update to 1.01 and 1.02 warns the updater exxplicitly as it says "Speed reducement on low Batterie optimised"......

The 14D i rode was on originally FW...so no Speed reduction.......

The 14S allready available here on ali: (as i think to a good Price seeing Transport and taxes included):

I can not see why there would be anything made bad on a bigger Batterie, beside that for sure ist 2 cm wider on each side.

Like i said my ride wasn't that Long but i rode 30kmh ...fast driving especially and found it quiet stable for a 14inch...here you can see the wider sidepads real good:

Hi @KingSong69, you can also buy directly to szkingsong (Diana@szkingsong.com). What do you think about that? (I'm thinking about buy KS14-S, but I'm not sure about where I should buy it)

As in bold letters said in my signature: i am not connected to KS in anyway......

what i can say is: both Aliexpress sellers have a good reputation, especially from the rockwheel store, where i purchased myself 3! times!

From the "travelling store"....i have heard only one story, where the afterbuy conversation/support was not that great.....

Idont know the prices from KS directly, when speaking/mailing to the ali stores, you might get also a discount, just ask!

your decision!

Myself: i would order the wheel from green and travelling...unbeatable prize....but as said...dont know KS direct...
