EUC riding Tips

Stefan Eekenulv

Recommended Posts

Hi all passionate EUC riders!

some of you I have already met or talked to via the FB-pages . I have not been very active in the forum ...yet.

I love to share my "findings" regarding EUC ridings ...NOT because they are "the only way to ride" but to inspire some of you to become better riders

I am not doing any circus trixs ...I am a fan of both Damien Gaumet and Chris West, but I am trying to push for the connection between skiing and EUC

my EUC riding tips booklet in its latest version can be found at  https://www.dropbox.com/s/mlrokemyvdvml9u/Riding tip_booklet.pdf?dl=0

(and the blogg is here: http://eucriding.blogspot.se/)

PLEASE let me know more about stuff you want to have explained in the samme style as in the booklet

NOTE that next year there will be more videos on the BLOGG for every riding tip...

Hello @Stefan Eekenulv I read you booklet.  Very interesting.  I'm not sure I understood it all, but as a fast mono skier, you must know what you're doing or you would be an ex-fast mono skier.  I will trust what you say, and try to apply the techniques.  What happened to tips 15 to 19?

I appreciate the work and effort you have put in.

so when do we get to see you demonstrating these techniques? If a picture paints a thousand words, a video must paint a million.?

Hej, @Stefan Eekenulv!

Nice layout and work on the booklet. I also saw that you have some video snippets on your www.euc.nu page. The more the merrier!:clap3:

I'll drop you a line the next time I land in your neighborhood from Uppsala. Curious to see your showroom.

here is a video with some of my friends that I usually ride with when in France: https://www.freeride.se/video/20041/

the missing riding tips are under construction (will pop up sooner or later) ...the plan is to create a "riding tip" every time I "discover something" and work it out ...

right now I really like the #21 ... I see it as a really nice way to get really powerful legs and fast reactions

Thanks.  The /more page worked.  I really liked your modifications pages.  You have confirmed what I always suspected from the first time I stepped on my wheel...one needs to be prepared to customise them to get the best out of them. Spikes, toe wedges, fatter cushions, etc.  I now feel encouraged to correct the flaws in my wheel, ( as I see them). I still don't understand all your riding tips, but I'm sure they will all make sense eventually.

id love to see the video versions of each one.

new Riding tip about different riding types and an assessment tool

First step to develop your skill is to recognise where YOU are as a rider right now, where you want to be in 6 months and decide which rider you want to "imitate" or learn from. You will develop your own style, as with your handwriting, but try to create "EUC calligraphy" instead of straight line pavement scribbles!

@Stefan Eekenulv I'd give you 2+ Reputation Bumps if I could ... this is a great book, and though I may not try all of these (or even many) I love the details about how to move and position your body for the tricks.  This helps me in basic manipulation of the wheel, and who knows? ... you can still teach an old dog ...
