Hello

Don't take this battery

Why?

Last time, a french bought this type of battery, here are issues he met:

battery dont have Ninebot BMS compatibility, your application doesn't reconnyze this battery, doesnt said you how much mileage left, data, charging, temperature, : nothing communicate

and dont hope put ninebot BMS on, SMALLEXIS said it doesnt possible, Ninebot BMS is very complex

Let's see on my website what's happen when you buy this type of battery (screenshot of app who dont communicate, picture inside ninebot battery and bms...)

Thanks, his pictures are great help! Knew to good to be tru, but to also wanted to show/warn others ...

Can you ask your friend how wide a groove around the pack for the silicon bead? He might be able to use valve packing to seal or o-ring cord!

And please don't follow monitor bad habits, why quote when you posted right below?

If you want the "real thing", ie an original battery, it seems to be available on Taobao (a Chinese site) for a fairly good price:

https://world.taobao.com/item/533100484840.htm?spm=a312a.7700714.0.0.6coHVI#detail

It is however unclear how to get it shipped to international buyers. If the seller cannot ship it you can contact this shipper (they shipped my batteries):

I just searched for euc batteries on taobao (独轮车电池 if you are interested) and came up with the following prices for small batteries (pictures).   For reference 125 RMB (Y=yuan=RMB) is $18.54 at current rates for a 132Wh 60v pack.  To buy from them you need a Chinese bank account, and it needs to be linked to taobao  or TMall, and usually there is at least one more hurdle (I used to use WeChat Wallet).   It's virtually impossible for someone outside of China to buy from them.   But the prices are attractive.

Also, if you have questions about when a pack is not performing well, here is a nice article ....http://batteryuniversity.com/learn/article/testing_lithium_based_batteries

When batteries are bad, or have aged, they tend not to recover from heavy loads very fast.  This is probably why the power, beeps, stability, etc. of an EUC start going wonky as the battery gets old.   They can still show full charging and other characteristics of good batteries.   I think you only get a voltage drop (doesn't fully charge) when you have one or more cells that are bad.   But as the battery is charged/discharged, the chemistry and physical structure of the electrodes deteriorate, and the chemical reactions can't happen as fast (either charge or discharge).  Thus the slow response.  In an EUC you demand lots of torque (the inverted-pendulum corrections) and slow response probably becomes very noticeable with battery deterioration.   Personally I think that the electronics could be improved with supercapacitors (great for high-torque applications) and regeneration, but that might be too expensive for the price range of these devices.  Or perhaps a flywheel at right angles to hold charge and provide gyroscopic stability.

@smallexis would you mind walking me through the steps for the external battery option? I bought a used segway for really cheap but ofcourse the battery pack is DEAD and I can't seem to find an affordable option in the US.

Hello,

sorry for my late answer but I just see your message today.

First, are you sure the battery pack is really dead? it's possible the BMS is on security mode but you can charge cells directly on output plug :

try this because external battery will work if internal battery is alive.
