Have recently been bitten by the EUC bug and puchased a Ninebot One E+ couple of months ago. As I'm getting more confident, I am getting bored of the 20kph speed limit I'm getting from the Ninebot One E+ and was thinking if it is possible to swap the control board with this one: https://reseller.alibaba.com/product-detail/16-electric-unicycle-Controller-with-bluetooth_60288223259.html?spm=a2700.7724838.0.0.VsHfbJ Have seen other threads where other users have been swapping their control boards with the one from Microworks purchased from Alibaba. Any other peripherals that have to be changed as well like hall sensor connectors or the like? Or if this hack is even possible? Appreciate your comments. Cheers
As you may have already guessed, this is the Raspberry Pi corner of this forum There is a new board out there that can fit inside the innards of our EUCs with ease.. The Raspberry Pi 3 Model B I have already intergraded two devices into my house, one inside the electrical panel that controls my water heatsink and other stuff using OpenHAB and the other one sits on the livingroom connected to my tv as a media theater system (kodi former xbmc) but doubles down as a seedbox (rtorrent+rutorrent). And now to the thread subject, are you guys up to some geeky mods using a raspberry and our EUCs?? Before attempting to get into the raspberry wagon, there are some things need to pointed out : A way to power these little beast of machines using a pico-psu and/or others. A way to interconnect it with other devices, modding the case for ports, using wifi-dongles, bluetooth or cellular, etc Extra things attached to the Pi so the EUC gets extra functionality Known connectors for data transmission thru the Pi, storage and others. This is by "far" the best subject of discussion if you are up to modding. In my honest opinion i don't just do stuff by hand, a friend of mine does most of the wiring etc but i do the setting up, programming, etc. I'd like your honest opinion on the matter, and if you are interested please leave a comment. cc. @esaj i think you'll love this mod thread And forgot to mention the little brother of the Raspberry Family, the model "ZERO" The little guy that also packs a punch and can fit almost everywhere.. Just look at that comparison guys.. Now start imagining the possibilities..
Probably the motor of the IPS Lhotz is powerful enough to go a lot faster than 20 km/h. The 'software' maximum speed is 16 km/h, after that the machine will protest and eventually even shut down if pressed beyond 20 km/h. I tested that and it hurt. Is there a tweak or hack or special app with which I can set the maximum speed to 25 km/h ?
After a recent ride in the rain I realised the importance of added grip on the pedals. Especially while going over bumps as keeping your feet in the same position can be challenging while jumping curbs and such. I considered buying grip tape from a skate shop. Although being frugal and also a tinkerer I started to consider what was possible with what I had in the garage already. Then a thought occurred to use a low grit sand paper. The plan is to use a use high quality gorilla tape on the edges to give a durable attachment, covering all but a narrow strip in the center of the pedal.
