  1. Hey all, I have a 14B travel version of the Kingsong and love it to death, so I picked up a used 14C with the 500w motor and the 520wh battery. It wouldn't charge, so I looked at the charge wires going from the charger port to the brick red battery connector and noticed the polarity was switched on the wires at one of the ends so that the neg connected with the pos at the brick red connector. Having solved that gremlin, I cannot connect it up to the app. I can find it on my bluetooth phone and iTouch and I can connect to the speakers using both android and apple apps, but cannot find it to connect to the app. This is a second hand unicycle so maybe its only paired with one and wont let go, or maybe my app thinks it is trying to connect to my 14B. I read about the speaker hook up and thats how I figured that out, but have no clue as to the app connectivity. When I was fixing the charger issue I did notice a loose black wire which I assumed was the Bluetooth antenna bunched together with the charger wires. Would that cause any interference? Is there a way to reset the device from its guts or by using a different means? I have already taken this thing around 10 miles on a journey and it has been fine, but I want to keep a safe eye on temperature, distance, and speed, and want to adjust the ride and speed warnings and pedal lean back features. Would anyone know how to help me? Can @tinawong be of any assistance? I am quite technically proficient and could perform whatever triage is necessary for the little 14C.
  2. Steep Learning Curve

Rider's log (test ride #2): Slow going... Learning to ride a unicycle is hard (and tiring). Balance takes a lot of practice. No injuries to report... On my first test ride I was very timid and extremely afraid of falling at any speed. I barely got to the point where I could travel a few meters without losing balance when my inner tube's valve snagged the housing and tore. (Deflated tire caused valve to stick out at a precarious angle.) Bonehead rookie mistake to avoid -- Don't forgot to check if there's sufficient air pressure before a ride. This is me putting on protective gear to ride my KS14C... This is the park where I go to practice riding my wheel. (Note: it's a hot 90 degree Florida afternoon and learning to balance is exhausting.) This is 'the slalom' where I practice low speed maneuvers (6-12kph). (Note for beginners: These posts are the perfect height to reach out and regain balance...)
  3. 14c Won't Turn on

A couple weeks ago, I started getting a grinding noise from my right pedal and took my 14c apart. I finally found a loose pedal mount. Retightened, put back together. Axle is actually in really good shape. The next problem began when I connected the Yellow, Green, and Blue motor lines in the WRONG order. All accessories worked just fine, but when the wheel powered up it went full speed forward for a few seconds and then full speed backwards for a few seconds. Fastest I've ever seen it spin. It tried to drive up my leg so I held it up until it spun out. After this it would not turn on again. I opened it back up and went through the whole thing 10-15 times with the manual and still would not power on. I figured that I've blown the control board somehow and order a new one from Ewheels. I've been in the middle of moving houses, so I hadn't had any time until yesterday to swap it out. I swapped it out, took my time, triple checked everything and it still won't power up. Is this a bad a power switch, or does anyone have any ideas to resurrect this thing? The battery appears to charge normally so I don't think it's a bad battery control or anything. Any ideas are appreciated
  4. King Song 14C 800W 680Wh - Broken

Hi all, Purchased King song 14c (800w) from Wheelgo late 2015, without warning the axle cracked approximately 3 months later. Unfortunately Wheelgo no longer trade from the UK, Jason was kind enough to send me the complete service manual, but unfortunately his suggestion to 'hammer it back' was never going to work. Dispite a number of emails to http://www.szkingsong.com/ they do not appear to be able to reply. Cost £895 Broken axle 3 months later cost/ time = £298 a month. I am also lucky enough to own an ips and ninebot, had no issues with these units. Liam

  7. King Song 14C vs FreeRide

Day 1: King Song 1 - Free Ride 0 First impressions... SMALL, it's actually a lot smaller that I pictured it. Looks very nice all black. Didn't get far on learning to ride it. Only manage to get on it with the help of a door way, but then the fun ended as a realized the tire pressure was way to low. Turns out is basically flat, not enough air to even move the pressure gauge. I don't have a hand pump that I could find and couldn't power the compressor. I see what people say about the design of the value stem being really bad... it's horrible. What a big let down though to find the wheel you're so excited to try has arrived with "no" air in the tire. The game ended before it started with King Song taking the day. Hopefully Day 2 will be better.
  8. After my face plant yesterday, someone asked me if I'm running the latest firmware. I thought I was because the 14c never gets upgrades. But I was just lookin in the app and low and behold there is an upgrade, specifically 1.25. I'm running 1.23. now, hearing all the horror stories of bad "upgrades" on wheels and phones and computers, I didn't want to rush into 1.25 until I've heard from someone using it. Btw, what is is supposed to have fixed, the app isn't clear about this. I look forward to so intelligence on the subject

  10. Dear all, My 12 month warranty struggle with supplier. Paid £825 ($1005) Inc Shipping. Unit: Kingsong 14C (800W|680Wh) Purchase Date: 6th August 2015 Perfect for 25 weeks. Ridden for 21 weeks (minus 2 weeks holiday + 2 weeks working away) Running cost / 21 weeks £39 per week. (approx $47) Previously owned: Ips - 1000+ miles no issues. Ninebot one - 1000+ miles no issues. Powerbrick failed - Emailed supplier October 2015. Email reply from Supplier (Company director) 'The first batch was pretty shoddy' 'Half of the chargers were defective out of the box' Unit fault- Emailed supplier 2nd Feb 2016. Scrapping from wheel, a large number of images sent to supplier showing foot pedal rubbing against wheel. Email reply from Supplier (Company director) 'is it a slightly bent axle causing the problem?' 'can it be hammer back into shape?' 'A bit of force should do the trick. You should be able to wedge it free by carefully using a chisel or flat head of the screwdriver.' Centre Axle Close up Unfortunately, mid Feb i was diagnosed with a seriously illness, in and out of hospital, doctors appointments... the Kingsong was the last thing on my mind. In June, after a number of emails from the supplier one of which i clearly remember asking him to take the unit back and rebuild it for me, it had been a long time since the unit had been dismantled, this request was ignored, the replacement wheel arrived 1 or 2 days later, after refusing to pay the shipping cost of £25. After another load of trips too and from hospital, doctors, nurses, etc. finally, I got around to fitting the 'new' motor, albeit some time later. Read and re-read the supplied manual several times The rebuild: Started out full of promise, rebuilt the unit in around 2 hours (took my time) Powered the unit up after fitting the very tight side panels, all the lights worked. The unit only works when it is moved 45 degrees to left or right. contacted supplier again, new board sent out - refitted same issue. Emails sent to king song 5x - Number of responses Zero Will post more images later for those of you who want to see in more details what $1005 buys you. To be continued.....
