  1. I was looking for recommendations for a headlamp that would fit well on my helmet (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00O5E72KI/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o07_s02?ie=UTF8&psc=1). Ideally the headlamp would be rechargeable, have different light modes (like strobe effect) and also a rear light for added visibility. Here's one I've found on Amazon, but before purchasing I wanted to try and get some feedback from the forum to see what others may be using or have for input. Thanks! https://www.amazon.com/Mifine-Waterproof-hands-free-headlight-Rechargeable/dp/B016Q8G9OU/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1495632717&sr=8-4&keywords=headlamp+biking
  2. Today one side of the handle on my KS-16S started to unlock from the wheel when I picked it up. I could still carry it but all of the weight was being held by just one end of the handle. It seems like only a matter of time before the other end also unlocks preventing me from picking it up. Has anyone else has this problem? Does anyone know how to fix this so that when I lock the handle it stays locked? I'm assuming there is some spring inside the unit that is not staying in place?
  3. KS-16S - Handle not staying locked

I agree, having it open all the time would be worse. I've got some luggage that has this problem Frustrating that the idea of integrating the trolley into the carry handle is not more reliable. I guess for now I'll be trying to carry it less in hopes that the other side continues to work for a while. The last thing I want to do is open this wheel. Maybe I'm not being adventurous enough, but I just want it to work and not have to be a wheel mechanic to keep this thing functional. Fingers crossed that the one side can hold up for a while and then when it gets too cold to ride anymore I'll tinker with it...
  4. Tightening the Monster Axle Nuts

Ahahaha, holy crap that's the funniest thing I've read in a while!!!
  5. DarknessBot - iOS App

Great point about the watch. That was definitely something I've been considering, but hadn't thought about the wrist protection getting in the way
  6. DarknessBot - iOS App

Yeah, I guess? I don't have many examples of functionality from the lock screen, other than date, time, running timer, and maybe a remote for your music player? Maybe that stuff is just too embedded into the iOS and @Ilya Shkolnik can't tap into that area of the phone, but again, just wanted to ask...
  7. DarknessBot - iOS App

I see what you are saying about the notifications, but no, I was actually talking about showing the info on the lock screen like if you set a timer for 10 minutes and then wake your phone up; you can not only see the time of day but also the running timer...maybe that's not possible to show the info from the Darknessbot app like that, but I'm not looking for a static notification, but instead a dynamic or changing display from the lock screen that shows up to date speed or battery life. Again, maybe it's not possible, but I thought I'd ask
  8. DarknessBot - iOS App

This is one of my favorite threads! I can't wait to see what @Ilya Shkolnik will be able to do with this app next! One thing that I would love to see is the ability to put one (or more) of the panels of data on the phone's lock screen. This would allow me to simply "wake" the phone, like checking what time it is, to see the speed I am traveling at or the battery life left in the EUC. Currently I need to unlock the phone and go into the app in order to get this, which takes too much time when riding. Quick viewing access to speed and or battery life (or a panel of my choosing) would be awesome! Thanks again @Ilya Shkolnik for all of your great work on this app! Can't wait to never open my KS or Inmotion apps again
  9. DarknessBot - iOS App

Right on, I'm well aware of the risks and was kidding about volunteering him to test it out Thanks @Ilya Shkolnik for your continued development of the app! Looking forward to some more integrated Kingsong 16S functionality
  10. DarknessBot - iOS App

Haha, pretty sure my son will...as soon as he finds out that his V5F could possibly go faster, he's going to be pumped. I would love to know what the implications are of pushing those wheels faster than what the manufacturer recommends or has as a restriction in their Inmotion app...
  11. My Wife's KS16S Gets a Silicone Job

    Looks awesome! Great work
  12. First ride

Congrats @Catlord17! So happy that things are starting to come around for you on your wheel. Now the fun begins
  13. We should probably keep the comments in this thread largely related to feedback for @Ombre and his publication, but if you start a new thread on this topic (ex. "handle cutoff switch vs. automated sensor cutoff") let me know. It might be interesting to see what people's thoughts are on the type of innovation you are eluding to.
  14. Something tells me this will somehow be copywritten by Inmotion/Solowheel now and we won't see it on other wheels but I agree 100%. Started on the Inmotion wheels and it's the most incredibly useful thing to have and infuriating each time i have to turn my wheel off just to lift it up a set of stairs, over a large curb, etc. Once you get used to the button handle it seems ridiculous that other manufacturers don't have it on their wheels...
  15. Couple of KS-16S Questions

Two quick questions that I was hoping for some help with: 1) Which end of the wheel is the front and which is the back? When the wheel goes back and forth the headlight and brake light switch, so does it matter? 2) When you calibrate the pedals, how do others do it? Are you simply tilting it back and basing it on feel or are you using some kind of numbers like -1, -2, etc? Do you use your phone with a leveler app? Thank you!
  16. Couple of KS-16S Questions

That seems like it would be the solution to the problem that @Marty Backe has had with his KS-14C...nice to see the evolution
  17. Couple of KS-16S Questions

    Holy crap that's cool.
  18. Couple of KS-16S Questions

I may have been incorrect saying that the music keeps playing after I turn my wheel off. At this point, it seems that, when I turn off my wheel, the audio/music blue tooth connection turns off, so no need for an extra button, I guess. This is still an issue though...I turn my wheel on and off a fair amount and that prompt is annoying. Are there even fans? Did you open the shell? I haven't heard fans running on mine, but maybe you are seeing something on the board? If you have a pic maybe that would help elicit a response from someone?
  19. I just read the preview and it looks good! I'll download a copy tomorrow and try to provide some feedback. Nice idea
  20. Fantastic post @WARPed1701D! I don't anticipate getting one of these helmets...yet, but a couple more face plants, particularly one where the injuries could have been prevented or lessened by a full face helmet, and I may be singing a different tune One request I had to the original posts in this thread is, can you change the color of your text to "white" or maybe "automatic"? I view the site using the "IPS4 Dark" Theme and your posts are showing up in a dark font which makes it hard to read forcing me to highlight all of your text so it shows up...I'm assuming that this was the result of your posts being done in another application first, then pasting them in? Anyway, just a small critique to an overall amazing post! Thanks again
  21. Riders in Maine?

Hello, it's a long shot, but here goes...are there any riders in Maine that would like to meet up for a ride? I live in a Central Maine and work in the Southern part of the State. Would be willing to connect up and ride.
  22. Riders in Maine?

Sounds good! Beautiful State but the best EUC riding months are certainly going to be May - Sept...otherwise it starts to get a bit chilly

I think that most of us, that are experienced online shoppers, do the same thing you are trying to do, get the best deal possible . However, most people that are talking about purchasing from a reputable reseller, like @Jason McNeil is because we've seen how unstable a lot of these high end wheels are and how many problems they can have. It is not a unique problem to one brand, but it appears that the more the manufacturers push the limits with the wheels the more problems you could run into. It seems a little counter intuitive to think that you can pay more for a wheel only to find that it may have more problems, but in many cases it is true (I'm comparing paying $500 for a Ninebot vs. $1500 for an ACM or 16S). I certainly don't want to steer you away from the sport or from upgrading your wheel, but this forum is littered with examples of people having problems with their wheels. Those people that purchased from an online auction site are generally screwed and those that purchased from a reputable dealer are supported until a resolution is found (generally speaking). Below you'll see a recent example of a problem that, at the time I write this, is an unresolved problem, likely causing a lot of frustration for a rider (that spent good money). I have no idea what the resolution will be, but if it's a battery problem and it ends up being self diagnosed and not waranteed by the Aliexpress reseller, then this could be a few hundred dollars in parts, hours of research, and hopefully the end result is a working wheel, but who knows? I only point this out, not to scare you, but to try and help distinguish between an online wheel purchase vs. regular online shopping. Hopefully this doesn't come across as me trying to tell you where to buy from, but I just wanted to help point out how many similar horror stories we see on this forum so that you can help make an informed purchase decision

I'd try reposting this specific question in the Ninebot section of the forum. You may find the audience there has specific experience with that problem. Good luck!
